What's Good: It was really a bad experience. Salty dinner and terrible break fast .. Over all please avoid Coorg Shell .. I already told many of my friends to stay away from this home stay...

Its very near to the city centre and a few attractive locations are also nearby. The support staffs were very humble and supportive. You can also a few of home made products from here. The breakfast was very good.

We spent the Christmas weekend, since it was a peak time, the team at Coorg Shell- Mr. Venkatesh, Mr. Subramaniyam along with their team helped us with a comfortable stay as well as arranged the cab service(in spite of cabs being much occupied over the peak). Rooms were spacious, well maintained. Staff were extremely polite and helpful, food being served was delicious south-Indian(Jain food), felt homely. It is located pretty much in the heart of the downtown in Madikeri. Coorg Shell was fantastic to us! Coorg, to be explored at its best shall be allotted a minimum of three-four days since all the sightseeing spots are located distantly and in completely different directions, thus traveling around is time-consuming and ideal to get a cab booked for each day, for which the hotel provides good assistance. Visited Abbey Falls, Talacauvery(Origin of Cauvery river), Nisargadhama(Forest walk, hanging bridge, adventure rides, try going at 9 am and leaving by 11am during the seasons since it gets too crowded) , Buddhist Monastery(Golden temple, very peaceful, get to see the Tibetan style, try veg momos in their cafeteria) and Raja Seat(Best view in the evening). Chocolates, coffee and spices are the major shopping goodies. Food(in general) at Coorg is not very satisfactory, much of South-Indian. Overall a nice place to visit and Coorg Shell being definitely a great homestay in Coorg.

Twice stayed at this Place, Very Nice to stay for family. Tasted Morning breakfast is nice, Center of Madikeri. Rooms & Bathrooms are clean & Nice. Hotel Staffs are very cooperative. Rates are affordable. Limited Parking place.

1. Near to main bus stand. On the race course road. 2. Book first floor rooms. If you are a family or group of 5/6 then this is a nice place for budget stay. Just have the premium package where you will have to whole first floor with 2 DBR, 1 SBR with attached toilet plus the drawing & Dining. 3. Staff are very polite and helpful. They can suggest nice restaurants or arrange foods from nearby places. Mr. Anup helped us a lot. 4. Veg breakfast is complementary. 5. Rooms are standard, well prepared but maintenance should be improved.
