Value for every penny. Just excellent place to be in with nature and solitude. No traffic of people, cars only excellent hospitality, courteous people. My suggestion is every one should go to ORANGE COUNTY if they want to unwind themselves.

A Paradise of Timeless Harmony....
by sandy89 on February 16, 2017
Orange County is a place of beauty, comfort, and kindness. I have traveled to many beautiful resorts but what makes Orange County stand out is the genuine and personal kindness of the people who work there. From the morning smiles of the men and women sweeping the paths and tending the lush gardens to the servers in the dining rooms and guides who led tours....at every level of care I felt the warmth of their attention. Last year I came to Orange County with a small group from the United States and vowed to return. Having now just returned from three weeks in India and peaceful days at Orange County, I hope to return again. As an older, single woman, traveling alone, I feel safe and secure walking the paths and trails. In the dark, walking back to my cottage, often a worker would notice my slow pace and offer to accompany me. There seemed to be no limit to the gracious and genuine service. Also, traveling alone, I loved seeing families, children, newly weds...people of many ages and nationalities sharing activities and meals. There is so much to do, tours to enjoy, nature to explore, cultural talks to learn from. Orange County is a world within a world. Finally, amidst the luxury and beauty of Orange County I revel in the philosophy of respect for the environment such as recycling and not using plastic bottles. And then there is the delight of turning a corner and noticing a sign on a tree, inviting reflection and deeper appreciation of the world and the lives we live. I vow to return again!

I can't think of a better location for my honeymoon. I availed the Honeymoon package and it's one of the best decisions I took. The place is amazingly beautiful with excellent hospitality of the staff. It is an ideal location for people who enjoy a peaceful vacation with freedom to do things of their own. I will recommend this place to everyone.

This place is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in all my travels. The ambience is great, detailed to the every bit to give you the best experience. It's not just a show they put on, they actually strive for a perfect zero waste system. They practice organic farming. They have adopted a village nearby and some government schools and provide jobs to them. They were awarded the "Earth Changers" award by the National Geographic Society for their amazing work. The staff and crew are very kind! They are very well informed and are able to help us make choices. The activities at the resort are great too. We did the plantation walk, eco walk(not many do it but it is very informative and interesting), Village visit, bird watching, coracle ride, etc. The naturalists are not only informative but they make the experience so fun and interesting with the way they speak. Even the people who clean the rooms are very helpful and sweet, forever smiling. They all speak English so it's easy to communicate. The food is great! They have 1 restaurant open at all times (also with WiFi) and 2 more where you need to book before hand. The chefs are great! The dishes are so good and creative and they also make some more things outside the buffet on request. All their ingredients are fresh and organic and you can tell the difference. Their rooms are great too! Almost all of the rooms have pools if I'm not mistaken. When you step out of your perfect, warm, clean room you can hear the birds loud and clear. Hence, I suggest the bird walking tour because you'll soon be able to spot the birds too. A kingfisher used to chill with us by our pool. It was an such fun. The hotel rooms are spread out over 35 acres and at some point you'll need their super prompt buggies to come and get you. Keep up the good work Orange County!

Four friends , a remote resort in the midst of thick green cover , lots of activities to choose from and animated conversations over fantastic food , is how I would describe my stay at Orange county ,Coorg. We chose to drive down to Orange county from Mangalore . The drive was smooth and scenic except the last stretch of road leading to the resort which was bumpy. The reception area to my surprise was small and did not spell luxury as I had expected (considering the price we paid ). The welcome drink was an amazingly refreshing mix of coconut and coffee. We stayed at a two bedroom pool villa. It was well furnished , each bedroom spacious with two bathrooms for convenience of four guests. Living room had basic furniture but was well stocked with complimentary beverages cookies and fruits. Bathrooms were spacious, clean and well stocked with basics. Rooms had access to an attached , private Pool completely hidden from public eye, opening out to thick tree cover with chirping birds and squirrels making their own music. Most relaxing moments can be spent in silence here with nature for company. Lot of walking required as the property is spread across acres . On has the option of calling for and hitching a ride on the buggies moving around the property. The restaurants , mainly three offer elaborate spread daily. The choice of veg and non veg food offered is huge! The fine dining place near the river bank dissapoints majorly in taste department. Full marks to the experience of candle lit dinner though. OC is managed wonderfully well with curteous staff eager to help. The activities are plenty to choose from. Nature walk in the morning deserves a special mention. River Cauveri's cool, gentle flow was soothing to our tired feet . Property boasts of an attached coffee plantation .We loved the filter caapi and meter Chai during our stay. Initially I found the tariff to be a bit on the higher side but considering the overall package with all meals and activities, I came out completely satisfied. A big thumbs up and a promise to come back with family next time over.
If walking is an issue, ask for a cottage close to dining.
