Value for every penny. Just excellent place to be in with nature and solitude. No traffic of people, cars only excellent hospitality, courteous people. My suggestion is every one should go to ORANGE COUNTY if they want to unwind themselves.

  • Very disappointing experience

    by Sudarshan K on August 19, 2017

Me and my friend planned to visit the restaurant here for lunch . We called up their call centre to enquire if they allow outsiders and we were told yes but it would be subject to availability. I asked her by availability she means we might have to wait and she said yes . We were fine with that . Then I asked her till what time would they serve lunch . She respond by saying they have 3 restaurants there and it is an all day dining . So I clarified with them that if I happen to reach late , would they serve lunch to which she said yes . We had to travel about 30 kms to reach the property. When we reached the property , the security did not allow us inside stating we do not have a reservation. I called the call centre again and they tell me they are sorry and cannot have us over as the resort was full . I told her we are just 2 people and are willing to wait . They said no they cannot have us over . I asked her why didn't she tell us earlier and her reply was we are sorry . We were also told that later that the all day dining was just for people staying there . I wished we were told all this before and we would have never gone there . Extremely unprofessional staff.

  • Beautiful Property and Outstanding Service but no wifi in rooms.

by patnaikbiswa on August 19, 2017

Beautiful property which gives the feeling of living in a forest but with modern day comfort. One can just relax or do various activities available at the property. The villas are spacious and lovely. The service is outstanding. The staff go out of the way to help and assist you. They are warm and efficient. They even upgraded our room! The food at the restaurant is delicious and the spread is huge catering to all tastes. The pandi curry was outstanding. The only problem we faced was there is no WiFi in the rooms and the data connection is patchy. WiFi is available at few common areas but this one area which they can definitely work on. In this day and age it is imperative that they have WiFi. Apart from that we had no complaints and I highly recommend this place.

  • Heaven in Southern India !!

by NiveshKumbhat on August 18, 2017

If there is any real Heaven in southern India; It is here in Orange County Coorg !! Now to be known as EVOLVE BACK Coorg. Luxury amidst jungle and dense plantations at its very best. You ask for anything, it is here ! Must visit place for everyone who needs something special for their Holidays. We stayed here for three nights and four days. We were blown away. We have been to some wonderful luxury resorts in India and this ranked right up there with the best ones for us. Our arrival and check in went swiftly, after a nice and soothing welcome drink - The jaggery coffee. I knew previously that the resort was huge, but you only realize the magnitude of it once you see it for yourself. They have small golf-car-like vehicles that could be called for in case we needed to be escorted from one place to another. Luckily, our room was not too far away from the Reception area, and we were accompanied there by a smart lady (Sorry, I cannot remember the name) who seemed to have been assigned the responsibility of our stay there. She explained all that was needed to be explained about the room and the resort, and took her leave. We were three families, and we had booked a Lily Pool Bunglow and a Lily Pool Cottage, and it was marvelous. There was a large Entrance Hall that had a dining table, seating area, refrigerator cabinet with tea / coffee maker and an individual RO Water Purifier plant for the room, and lots and lots of space and natural light. We came to know that each room at the resort has an individual RO Water Purifier fitted, as it is one of the ways that they seek to eliminate the use of plastic Mineral Water bottles. The bedrooms in the bunglow were huge. There was a lovely seating area at the window ledge, and a large dressing area. The bathrooms were beautiful. And what's more, even that had a lot of natural light from the large glass windows that opened into a small open-to-sky service area filled with plants. We loved the Private Plunge Pool. To call it a plunge pool would be an understatement, because it was quite long, and allowed you to actually 'swim' rather than just float from one end to the other. There was a decent jacuzzi section as well within the pool. It looked absolutely stunning and picturesque. The resort offered a lot of activities like Bird watching, Village Visit, Coracle Ride, Eco walk, Nature walk, Paper recycling, Workers trail, Plantation walk, etc. We were informed that the Resort is housed in a 300 acre campus, of which 35 acres is used by the resort for guests and staff, while the rest in all coffee and other plantations. They even have made an artificial Lake to preserve water and to finish off there dependency on the Cauvery river. There was a spot by the lake within their campus where we could feed the fish. That was also fun for a while. And there was a shop where we bought coffee, spices and honey grown / extracted from their plantations. The resort housed three restaurants - the Granary, the Plantain Leaf and the Peppercorn. We tried all three, and were amazing. The food served, in general, was of the best quality. The Granary was the multi-cuisine restaurant that served the buffet meals. The spread was always varied, and the service for additional orders was also very swift. You ask for anything, it was there ! The Plantain Leaf was a speciality vegetarian thaali restaurant. We had dinner there, and tried both North Indian thaali and South Indian thaali. The first impression when we were served was how could a human being possibly eat that much food! The second impression was from the lovely aroma of the curries. Lastly, I will come to the staff and the entire team at the resort. What a team they have! They were thoroughly professional, and yet each engagement had a very personal touch. We were greeted with a smile and a "Namaskara" by every single person we passed. And you could make any request to them, and they would not say no. The person in charge of Housekeeping of our room, Mr. Subramani, always inquired about our well-being every time he saw us. Another person from the housekeeping staff worth mentioning was Mr. Anthony. And then there was CHANDI ! Mr. Chandikunju, as per his business card, is the Executive Sous Chef at the Evolve Back Resort in Coorg. But he did a lot more than his Chef duties. During meal times, he walked around each one of the restaurants meeting all the guests and taking feedback. He met us at EVERY MEAL. And he was delightful to talk to. At the time of our Breakfast on the last day there, we let him know that he will be missed when we get back home ! My two kids were so fond of him that they started to get there special dishes prepared from him on their own. And he responded them very well. I have never met a wonderful Chef like him in my entire life. He left way behind all the chefs of the five star properties in India by his wonderful heart touching behavior and Sumptuous preparations. On the whole, it was a fabulous time we spent there. In the middle of large plantations and shaded by some stunning trees all around the resort, we found the monsoons to be a wonderful season to visit, even though it is considered to be a lean season. The greenery was so refreshing and soothing to the eye, and the fresh air was soothing to the lungs! We look forward to more visits to this place in the future, and hope to experience the same level of happiness again ! All in all, its difficult to find a single flaw in this Resort, even if you may find any, the Staff of this resort make it up with their touchable SERVICE and SMILE.
