We were a family of 4 who checked into this beautiful homestay. The host Mr. Poovanna and his mother Ashwini aunty attended to us in a very homely way. The rooms are spacious (can accommodate 6-8 people comfortably) , cleanly maintained, shiny clean, toilets are very big and they have a dressing room also. Situated amidst pepper and coffee plantations, Mr. Poovanna took us on a walk amidst the plantation and gave us very valuable informations regarding the flora and fauna of the place. Campfire was fun. Food was very very delicious Coorgi cuisine. So many tasty delicacies they served.. They provided Mulberry and Citron juice which was unique and awesome. Highly recommend stay. Cost effective too. Please do have a stay there to experience whatever I've mentioned in this review.

We were a family of 05 Adults and a 7 years old kid. The entire stay was exhilarating . The review would be incomplete without mentioning and commending the culinary skill of the host- Mr. Poovanna and his family. We were served full course of authentic coorgie cuisine. The very special PANDI CURRY was the show stopper. One more aspect is also worth mentioning is that Mr. Poovanna has maintained and retained the concept of Home stay in its true letter and spirit. Located amidst 32 acres of coffee and spice plantation; pepper trail Homestay is worth visiting again and I strongly recommend the same. Regards Neeraj

We a Family of 12 Adults & 3 kids stayed at Pepper Trail Homestay for 3 nights from 12th to 14th August 18. I must say the stay was just Awesome and our whole family enjoyed to the core. Host Poovanna is an amazing human being humble , patient and is like your wish is my command like a genuine. He did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. Food was healthy and cooked with heart , finger licking and tasty. This is not a place to expect Hotel Stay. This is a place for nature, care, food, happiness and enjoyment. You are truly in nature. Rooms are very big, always kept clean. Hot water available round the clock. Milk, tea, coffee, food is on time as per commitment. You will see the extra effort by this family to keep guests happy. They don't do short cuts and always a smile. Guidence for tourist spots was given accurately. Poovanna was constantly in touch to check our whereabouts and genuine concern and proper guidance. Took us for a walk around the stay and it was truly worth. We were happy happy happy. Even on our return journey Poovanna was keeping in touch till we reached airport and checked on if we reached safely. We chose Pepper Trails towards the end of May to beat the summer heat since it was close to Nagarhole Sanctuary. That meant (we believed) we could do a short trip to the Sanctuary - a bonus for our daughter. It is a warm welcoming place with the owners and their two sons - Poovanna and Sandeep organising things for you and efficiently running the place. They don't entertain walk-ins, since they need to plan for their guest's stay. Visitors must book their stay in advance. The room was neat and functional, with a helper close-at-hand, should you need anything. Since it is a coffee estate, we could walk along the main path and explore. Our daughter was happy to see the touch-me-nots, the coffee berries and pepper pods that had just begun to show on some vines. For nature lovers, there is plenty to watch from the lichen on trees, the wild flowers and plants, to the numerous birds that flock the estate - Racquet-tailed drongos mimicking calls, Orange Minivets showing off their colours, Golden-fronted Leafbirds, numerous Flame-backed Woodpeckers, Rose-ringed Parakeets and many others. The owners recounted their experiences with wild elephants that sometimes pass through the Estate. Unfortunately for us, even though it was May, the rains had set in and though Poovanna made arrangements for a safari at Nagarhole, it rained so heavily on both days that the safaris were cancelled. The food is wonderful and you get to hear the experiences of other guests at mealtimes. Poovanna, a former chef, and his mother served some delicious dishes from Coorg, on our request. The estate is close to Waynad and the Irupu Falls, so short trips are possible for visitors. You can discuss with Poovanna and make your sight-seeing plans, based on your interest. Poovanna recommended we visit an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu at Mananthavady- the Thirunelli Temple. It is an hour's drive or so from the Estate ,near Brahmagiri hill in Kerala's Wayanad district. We saw plenty of Gaur, Chital along the way. It was a pleasant drive in the evening. Overall, it was a short, wonderful stay for us- the only issue was it rained and ruined our safari plan. I would recommend Pepper Trails for anyone who wants to spend a quiet, no-fuss stay. You can read, eat, take short walks, stare at the greenery and enjoy your time with nature. The owners are warm and hospitable. Poovana and his mother made sure our daughter had something to do, despite their schedule, after she got bored of rambling with us.
