A good getaway for a weekend, but the food choices could have been better.
by WeiLiek on September 14, 2017
Personally think that it's a bit overrated based on the reviews seen online vs the cost of accommodation and travel. Stayed 3 days 2 nights and honestly the food choice could have been better-- it's limited and 3 meals a day over the 3 days may be a bit "overwhelming" XD. For a change there're some towns nearby to go to. Hospitality was great -- We had a short tour to their coffee plantation and church, plus they were fast to change the room for us when we reported the leaking roof issue as well as the TV network problem. Kudos to that.
Weekend away from hustle and bustle
by tejasvichand on September 5, 2017
The resort is on the way to Madikeri. I was sceptical about the location given that it was not in Madikeri. But, the resort turned out to be a surprise with what it has to offer. The road to the resort is serene with Tata coffee estates covering the landscape. Porcupine castle offers mystic greenery with its mountain view cottages, which is the one we opted. I was spellbound by the room with its wooden covering that resembles the Kerala style architecture and spaceous living. Not to forget the view from the room which was also good. The room service provides alacarte to the room, and the cusine was quite interesting with Coorg style of cooking. I preferred Coorg style mix veg curry with stuffed paratha. It tasted traditional rather than the usual dabbing of ghee or butter that overpowers the taste of the curry. But, the other eveibg, the fried rice tasted bland with hints of venigar which was not okay with me. The buffer breakfast had a nice spread of south indian dishes like Vada, idli, poori, upma. I did not enjoy the breakfast particularly the Vada and Poori but others might find it interesting. My suggestion - Go with Alacarte. There are indoor games and pool that can be used. We played some table tennis and indoor golf to start with while also touring the property. There is a plantation tour which we could not go as it was early in the morning. We enjoyed the stay but the resort needs to be flexible on the check in and check outs.
Property with beautiful views and greens all around
by Manjunath_R on August 8, 2017
Place is clean and rooms are huge. Infinity pool is an icing on cake. Kids have a good play area to keep themselves busy. Trampoline jump is main attraction for them. View from the property is awesome with greens all around. Food is decent and nothing to complain about. Once we entered the resort, we never felt like getting out of it. The place has a neat landscaping all around which offers a pleasant feeling. It has a tree house as well if anyone wants to explore it.
Perfect holiday in lap of nature
by SreenathChaks on August 7, 2017
Stayed with family in first week of aug 2017. Resort lies inside the coffee estate with a great view of nature. Good place for a holiday.Rooms provide good view. Climate was rainy and foggy. Service was good. Rooms were neatly maintained.
A strictly 'OK' experience as we had expected more (Over-hyped)
by Darshana N on July 17, 2017
I booked this hotel after doing extensive research for many days. The location is really beautiful and that earns the hotel brownie points by default. But I think the resort is just over-hyped and did not live up to the expectations. If I visit Coorg again, will try a different hotel for sure. Firstly, the food was quite disappointing. The snacks we had for 2 days in the evening were really bad. The mixed pakora plate and the roasted peanuts we ordered were bad tasting. We also almost returned the entire bowl of schezwan noodles we had ordered for dinner as it was too oily. The resort charges around 20% more for room service..WTF. So, we were forced to go to the dining area for food. The dinner buffet was exorbitantly priced at 600 plus taxes with limited variety (i don't mind paying if the food is outstanding but that wasn't the case). The washroom was dirty and I had to get it cleaned when we checked in ..that is totally unacceptable for a 3-star hotel. Also, the geyser was horrendous and took 20 min to heat the water. The water went cold within a few minutes of taking a shower and we almost had a bath with lukewarm water everyday. Couldn't the resort have better geysers installed, I mean that's the basic necessity? I've stayed in many 3-star hotels which cost less and have better amenities. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone visiting Coorg. But the hotel staff was very courteous though, specially the waiters were very kind and helpful. But wish the management had done a better job. But the location does give you some soul-searching moments with the scenery around, the hammock and the swimming pool at the edge of the cliff.
Valley view rooms offer a great view.

Tree House is beautiful but if you have problem in knees avoid tree house , stairs are just too steep and in 2nd & 3rd Floor .
by SanjayAparimita on June 25, 2017
If we need a big room, I recommend cottage type. Tree houses are little bit small
by Chakkravarthy M on June 17, 2017
Choose mountain view room. If you have parents who can't walk much then ask for a room closer to reception.
by AbhinavBlr on June 13, 2017
Valley view rooms are amazing. The tree house is also interesting.
