Its a quaint little place, a little away from the main city. If you want a place to kick back and relax, this is just what you need. The hosts are really nice and friendly. The food is fantastic. There are 3 rooms in total, all with separate entrances and attached bathrooms. Opposite the rooms is the garden and a passageway to the river. The river is peaceful and you can play in it if you like. You can take a short wall along the river side. You can also take a tour of the estate while Mr Muthappa gives you details of types of coffee and a short history of Coorg. The stay in all was fantastic, i'd totally recommend the place

After reading the reviews of this place we decided to go there. A excellent place if you just want relaxation and a nice sleep. As the name and their website says that you can have fun in river, but the surprise is you do not have access of river. From the cottage it's not visible, you have to go little far to see the river as the place is full of grass and mud. You do not have access of anything and no activity. You have to go in your room as soon as its 5pm, you can't be outside as place is full of mosquitoes and dark. Room is not clean easily you can spot spider web in the room. Not recommend.

A excellent scenic area in coorg but the approach is quite difficult and we did have a tough time finding.it.. The owners are quite pleasant but for the wrong person might feel very inquisitive.. There is a nearby river and a beautiful estate and mountainview which would make the travel worth it...

This is a great place for relaxation. The hospitality is simply great. They cook your choice of menu. Uncle is a ex-Army person and is quite enthusiastic to share his past experience in Army. Aunty and her helper is a very good cook. The only drawback of this place is the approach road. The last 2-3 KM is through muddy terrain. But, if you go at slow pace, even a low ground-clearance vehicle like Honda City will reach this place without scraping the chassis.

If you have nothing to do, do it here. Pack your bags as you read this, don't lose time looking any further, take this from me in writing since I have already spent 1 month of research before I decided, booked, prepared & finally we set out on the morning of 15th Oct 2015, The directions given were very accurate. First of all dream it , have a vision & live it. I did not want a hotel, or a homestay in town, nor a resort like club mahindra or orange county. I wanted an estate, I wanted a river, I wanted a vegetarian restaurant (though we are non veg for halal reason) within a radius of 10km. I was travelling with my wife & two kids, ages son 3 yrs & daughter 11yrs. Travelling from Bangalore, we took an extreme right after srirangapatna & reached sunticoppa via hunsur, at suntocoppa we located the restaurant, the market, fish shop, chicken shop, bought only food for lunch & dinner & when u turn off the highway the road is good for 3km, then u have to turn onto the estate road this is bad 3km, then you turn into the estate & drive 1km of mud road barely wide enough for estatecar, the drive was a wonderful experience. The owners of this estate, 3 brothers live right there in separate houses. Mr M.D. Muthappa is one of them & His wife Mrs ponu muthappa have two cottages annexed to their house, one is the two room cottage, we stayed in, the other has two rooms but with separate entrances. Opposite the cottages the estate slopes towards the river, you will find a trail about 250mtrs leading to the estate fence, there is a narrow opening in the fence, just 100mtrs ahead is the hatti river, not very big or forceful. We would trek through the estate early in the morning & pitch our tent by the riverside & camp there during the day, play in the water, do fishing, have lunch in the tent, in the evening we would open the picnic basket on a chequered cloth on the grass outside the tent & have snacks & return to the cottage by sunset. Sometimes we would pitch our tent in front of the cottage at sunset & do night camping in the safe environment of the estate & have a fish barbecue, with some old kishore Kumar songs playing in the car parked beside us, followed by dinner & then retire to the cottage. My kids loved it, it was a satisfying experience, I had lived my dream. I had carried all my photography equipment, tent, fishing rod, camping chairs, rechargeable led lights, dynamo lights for camping where no electricity, barbecue grill, tongs, et all. There is a power shortage in coorg, but in the estate they have solar lights for night use & generator backup which is used prudently. Hot solar water is available round the clock & there is a geyser also. The place is neat, clean & spacious with a large bathroom. I remembered a slogan from my childhood picnic, "all enjoyment, no disappointment". This was a part of my leasure coorg tour, relevant to this place, which was meant to relax. The sight seeing is another story.
