Okay, so the road is bad; apart from that, it's as close to perfect as is possible.* All the staff were so keen to ensure we had a great stay, even going so far as to point out some of the local monkey population. The individual lodges were lovely, each with a view into the ample plantation grounds. As for the food, it was beautifully cooked and served with a smile. There's lots to do in the locality, or just stay home and chill, your choice. * Okay, nowhere is perfect, but Serene Woods is close to it.

The property is in the midst of a coffee plantation and the drive up to the property is through lush green vegetation, which is a welcome sight. The cottages are located such that each one has a different view and the privacy to enjoy that view. The views are so splendid that we spent most of our time lounging and chatting in the balcony. There is also a well equipped games/ entertainment room (again, with a beautiful view), well stacked with books, toys, board games and movies to keep visitors of all ages occupied for hours. The food at the property was tasty local fare and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The team there also thoughfully organized a special dinner spread for Christmas. The staff is very courteous and helpful and made our stay comfortable. Special thanks to the very knowledgable Mr. Bopanna for the plantation walk in which he shared interesting facts about coffee and gave us helpful tips on places of interest to visit.

This is a small and relatively new place tucked away in a ravine on the outskirts of the Madikeri village down a small rather long driveway. It sits among the coffee plants of an about 36 acre coffee plantation and is very quiet and isolated from the rest of the hurly-burly of India's Coorg region up in the hills or mountains. We had a very nice separate cabin down by the dining and small parking area. The area around the resort was very tropical and almost jungle-like with waterfalls and singing birds you could actually hear every morning. There are higher up bungalows in the small facility but we chose not to tramp up and down the long sets of stairs esp. at night. Very comfortable but the bathroom / shower had only a small electrically-heated on demand water heater. Not a big inconvenience but not readily available hot water at times either. Otherwise very comfortable with wifi, etc. Definitely a hideaway if you want it that is truly serene and peaceful.

The place is situated in a coffee estate and is a 10 min drive from madikeri centre. The rooms are comfortable and the support staff is very nice and friendly. We really enjoyed the service, food and our stay at Serene woods!

This was our second visit to Serene Woods and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The setting is very scenic as the cottages are at a high elevation, well spaced out from each other and surrounded by forest cover. So mornings begin with birdsong and evenings end with the deep sound of crickets. This resort also provides bonfires in the evening which make for a lovely relaxed ambience. Food provided for breakfast and dinner is fresh and delicious. Staff members are so keen to help and the cottages are super comfortable. We would love to visit again!!
