We visited Coorg last week only and since it was a last minute plan, we couldn't do proper checks and decided to go by the (only!) review available for this place online. From the review it looked like it was a steal-deal and we were quite gung-ho about our upcoming stay here, only to be highly disappointed! As soon as we reached Kushalanagar, we realised this place is quite cut off from the main road and the city. To top it all, the guy at Sipayi takes ages to answer your call and guide you to the place. Finally when he did oblige us, we discovered that the road to this cottage is painfully narrow and terribly rocky. You literally have to navigate through a mini jungle to reach this place. God only knows how fiercely I was praying throughout that our vehicle's tyre stays intact and doesn't burst owing to the rocky road. After such an ordeal when we managed to reach the cottage, it was totally deserted! Apart from 3-4 staff members who were not at all warm, welcoming or friendly, there was practically nobody there. Even after reaching the cottage, the guy made us wait for more than half an hour, before he handed us the keys to our room. Little did we know that more surprises were in store for us. When we reached our room, it just had a CFL light and nothing else! Yes.. you read that right! Not even a ceiling fan was provided to us. This, after we paid more than 3000 per night for such a dingy and shabby room, where lizards, insects and dragon-flies could be found in abundance. We literally had to beg the owner for a table-fan to beat the sultry heat outside. Looking at the pathetic condition of the cottage, we didn't even ask for food as we knew how horrible it could be. They did keep a TV in the room which obviously did not work. It was merely a show-piece for us. We prayed for our lives throughout our stay and even tried looking for other options in terms of hotels and lodges. But since it was a packed weekend, we couldn't find anything. We heaved a sigh of relief only when a couple of guys also came to this place the next day. Otherwise we were deliberately leaving the place early in the morning and coming back quite late in the night to avoid spending time at this isolated and seemingly-haunted place. And yeah, one more point, the care-taker drinks heavily at night. So please choose this cottage at your own risk. It is at such a location that even if they kill and bury someone, nobody in the world would come to know. To add to the horror, there is absolutely no mobile network in this region. So you cannot even make a call in case of an emergency. Just want to bring all these points to general notice so that nobody else goes through the horrific experience that we did. Please AVOID THIS PLACE! Just not worth it.

It was very delightful stay here, Well maintained and very friendly staff. Food is really tasty and special thing about this cottage is its location. it has surrounded by Coffee estates which will give you a very pleasant stay. a guy called Anu took us early morning in coffee estate and explained very nicely about the estate, trees and nature. Coorg coffee at its best in this cottage. Camp fire arrangement was so good that we had very good time with family. overall it is a good place to visit. -ve point is, i found cost is bit expensive and Room qulity needs to be improved a lot.
