We had a wonderful two day stay at Capt. K's Getaway in Coorg. The rooms and bathrooms are very well maintained and kept clean. Leila, her children and the homestay staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The food was amazing and cooked by Leila herself. Kiera and Kieran are wonderful company for adults and children alike. There is great attention to detail given in everything at the Getaway, be it the little amenities in the rooms, or the presentation of the food, to the upkeep of the entire property including a beautiful pool and a garden. 8 wonderful dogs welcome you when you drive in and this was great for my dog too, because even He was looked after so well! The estate drive was thrilling to say the least. An enjoyable stay! Definitely going back some day.

Far from the city buzz, this place is the answer that every busy Bangalorian is looking for. Amidst the lush green coffee estate dwells a lovely cottage with a glass rooftop washroom which is simply breathtaking. One can spend the entire day living in the nature, bird watching, swimming in the oceanic blue pool, star gazing and what else not. A surprise treat for the dog lovers awaits in the stay. Around 8 friendly four legged cheerful souls dance around all day long making the place happier for all. And most importantly, the food served is amazing. From english breakfast to pandikari (coorgi pork curry), from barbeque to fresh salads picked from the very own organic farm behind, one can relish the finest dine here. A perfect wrap to the stay is the adventurous truck ride across the estate to get that adrenaline rush before you leave for the busy city. So be sure not to miss this happy experience in your next getaway.

We stayed at Captain K's for 3 nights during Diwali. Communication with Leila was very smooth prior to our visit and directions were spot on. Driving into the property, we were greeted by stunning views and cheerful kids - Keira and Keiran. The dogs were out to welcome us too! The rooms are beautifully done, the service and facilities as good as any good hotel's and the bathrooms are one of a kind. There is enough and more to do on the estate. Basketball and badminton courts, trampoline, pool, cycles, books, movies... The property is immaculately maintained. Leila personally prepares the meals with Keiran's help. The food is so good and freshly prepared. She ensures you get some local delicacies with every meal. The tea and pakoras every evening were something we looked forward to. And there was a barbecue dinner on the last day. Keira is a delightful 9 year old who is very wise for her age. She can have lovely conversation with you. Our son who is 7 yrs old was constantly playing with her. There are 8 dogs who are very friendly and you are never left alone. The drive to the plantation in the jeep with the kids and 3 dogs was lovely. Leila arranged an Ayurvedic massage in the gazebo surrounded by trees and chirping birds. We would love to come every year. Can't recommend it enough. And contrary to what some people are writing, I feel it was absolute value for money. We went to stay at Taj Vivanta after Captain K's and sorely missed it.

An idyllic homestay. Captain K's Getaway is everything one could wish for. Very high standards of housekeeping. The food was remarkable, and the courtesy extended by the family was old world and charming. I will definitely visit again.

This little property is set within a 75 acre coffee estate, with great views. It has just two independent rooms, which are very well appointed and have stunning bathrooms. So if two couples or a large family can take both, it's a nice experience. There's an open air lounge/hangout as well as a small 'infinity-type' pool. Leila's food is excellent, and she takes it as a challenge to serve delicious, varied, well presented food, with authentic Coorg dishes as well. Her children are friendly and good company. The surrounding trees are interesting for birdwatchers, we saw about 20 species - bring your binocs. In terms of cons - and these were for us - we'd suggest that, given this is Coorg, they research and suggest trekking options Also, we've stayed at 4 & 5 star properties in Coorg and this is about 10% overpriced. We had an ayurvedic massage, which was good, but at Rs. 2250, was again overpriced for a homestay. However, the pros far outweigh the cons, and we'd look forward to staying here again.
