The more I write about this exquisite place will be too little to read. A beautiful colonial style home, tastefully decorated comfortable rooms with clean Linen and well-appointed bathrooms, this homestay has been my first experience and I am so thankful to Smita and Arjun for having such a wonderful place. We had a memorable stay! Couldn't resist mentioning a special thanks in writing for making us a part of your family wedding. It's indeed a precious memory. Love you!! Thanks to the caretakers Mahadeva and his wife for the lovely food. It was mouth-watering tasty with just the right essence of Kodagu. According to my children, they had the best pandi curry, rice balls along with dal, chicken curry, veggies, chapatis and omelettes all cooked to perfection. The list extended with Akki roti, Raagi mudde and so on. The food was served with so much warmth and love. Smita and Arjun personally attended us for every meal. Do Not miss this place, it's simply PERFECT!!! Praveena

We took the Lodger Suite in The Lodge- easily the room with the best amenities(the other suites are very roomy and nice too)- the main one being the sit out overlooking the garden. I could have spent the whole holiday sitting there looking at the birds that visit, eating Mahadeva and his wife's amazing pakodas with tea. We had such a great relaxing time that I plan to do this every now and then esp since it is quite close to Bangalore. 3K a night for a couple with breakfast, is not bad. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the caretaker very helpful. I'd recommend it for a weekend getaway.

Coorg was at its best in Oct last week, couple of days we enjoyed cold and last day it was drizzling The Lodge was a Pleasant, cozy and comfortable home-stay. Nicely modified old property in the contemporary facility by retaining its identity.we enjoyed the most as there was no crowed and got full privacy in the house. The rooms, toilets and service was neat and clean, the food served was also delicious. Owner was not there but the caretaker also humble and cooperative. Itinerary send by owner was helpful in jotting our tour plan.Overall a good experience.

The Lodge is a nice property closer to the Madikeri main town. The owner of the property was quite friendly and helpful. The rooms and the bath were quite spacious and clean. The caretaker of the property was accommodating and prepared delicious breakfast for us to pack for our early morning outing.

The Lodge - happened to us after a long search on the net to pick the best for a homestay. This was our first homestay on any holiday and yes, The Lodge made this decision seem so very good! The owners Arjun and Smita, are very cordial and inviting. We, unfortunately, did not get to meet them since they had to move away due to a family emergency, the same day that we were to check in. However, Mahadeva, the housekeeper ensured we are well attended to and taken care of. This is a century old property and has been beautifully preserved and maintained by Arjun and family. There was no mushy odours, unkempt corners - which is usually synonymous with such old properties. Linen was clean, bathrooms were well-appointed too. Never felt the necessity for an air-con although we were in here in peak summer (april-may). The rain-gods decided to make our visit a memorable one with fab thunder-showers. Enjoying the down-pour in the verandah - viewing the garden area and sipping hot tea/coffee under terracotta tiled roof was an experience I would associate with a satisfying holiday. The food served is homely and very local in taste. The housekeeper ensures we are attended to well - of course, he does require the "green signals" from Smita ;) The best part of this home is its location - central to most tourist spots in Madikeri and its accessibility to the centre of the town. As a suggestion may be I would request Smita to look at having ceiling fans (if the idea is feasible considering the nature of the home). But this doesnt definitely stop me from giving a "5".
