It was a impromptu trip we decided to make, called Mr Dilip for the booking and he was helpful in accommodating us. Excellent hospitality, he called to enquire about our ETA, and made authentic Coorgi food which was better than any thing we ate. The rooms and bathroom were clean and very neatly kept ready...the hot water in the taps was refreshing. Next morning, Mrs Appachu made the most amazing Dosas..ate 6 each !! Many wont believe this...but after The Moorings we went to Taj Vivanta - Madikeri which was to be an amazing place...yes the place was good but the food and service at The Moorings was far better.

We went on an impromptu trip to Coorg from Hyderabad and took a friends reference for a Homestay. Unfortunately that Homestay was not available and owner of that Homestay recommended The Moorings in Chetttalli. I called Mr. Diliph Appachu of The Moorings to book a room. Mr Appachu offered me all help and agreed to accommodate us without a reservation. On arriving at the estate, we found everything as described in the website. The room was very comfortable and had everything we asked for. Mr. Appachu took us on a tour of coffee estate and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the process of coffee and taking a walk in the plantation. We were also lucky to spot the areas flying squirrel up close along with some native birds. Mr Appachu shared with us his deep knowledge of the growing of coffee and the various varieties grown in the region. We stayed for three nights and came back with great memories. We were the only guests and we had full privacy even though they had 3 rooms for Homestay. The best part of the stay was the warmth and care that both Diliph and his wife Preeti exhibited. They were gracious hosts and went all the way to make sure we had a memorable stay. The breakfast was excellent and we also had our dinners in their beautiful and artistic home. We had a great taste of Coorgi food served with so much care and pride. We enjoyed our stay so much that my wife Nirmala and I became friends with Diliph and Preeti and promised to keep in touch. Mr. Appachu also arranged for taxi and sight seeing in the Coorg area which was a great help to first time vistiors like us. We are very glad that we stayed at the Moorings and did not go to any hotel when the original Homestay was not available. I would recommend The Moorings to anybody visiting the Coorg area and will surely be staying in The Moorings on my next stay.

Guys if you are visiting Coorg this is the place which is better than probably any resort. It is one of the best home stays that I have ever stayed across the country. We landed up here though the original place which were looking for was full and they suggested us this place and I am thankful that we stayed here rather than going to a hotel or resort. This place just beautiful and easy on your pocket. Food is very homely, hygienic and good for your taste buds. Mr. Dileep the host is an amazing person and he guides you and helps you all the way. He helped me plan my trip with my family as soon as I confirmed with him bookings. We were driving down from Bangalore and he was of great assistance through out our trip. They respect your privacy and only have 1 group at a time while hosting. Excellent rooms and interiors with wooden furniture and gives a luxurious feel as well. A highly recommended place to stay with family or friends in the midst of mother nature surrounded with coffee estate and other plantation which would relax to the core.
