What's Good: I had booked the hotel for my parents and 2 other couples (all senior citizens). i was unsure how well they would be looked after at the resort. I was pleasently surprised when all 6 told me they were looked after very well by the courteous and helpful staff at Windflower coorg. Thank you to the wonderful staff there, my parents had a great time. I would definitely reccomend this place to all
What needs to improve : none
Nice resort with warm hospitality
by Karagada S on
Stayed in studio room for 3 nights. Room was quite pleasant with all one would want and expect available, including fridge, kettle, TV. Bed was comfortable, and room has relaxed seating. Bathroom has 2 showers, open to air and closed. Faint noise from the kithcen exahust is audible from the balcony, not a irritant but does down the sounds of birds and other nature sounds. Was surprised that we were not offered an upgrade to a better room considering occupancy was less than 10%. Did not ask for it as other rooms were far off from the restaurant and mobility was an issue for us on this holiday. The superior rooms are mostly at a distance and accessibility will be an issue for the elderly. Buggy's were present but were not operational. Food was average at best, apart from a few dishes which were good. Breakfast buffet is complimentary and the dishes are probably repeated every other day. Quality of food is good, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired. We did not opt for all meal plan, and were happy with having done this. Since occupancy was low, dinner buffet was offered only on one the nights we stayed, not much choice and taste again was average. Al a carte was definitely better. Not sure if it is mandatory to opt for buffet when available, or if al a carte can be had since staff were reluctant to offer it but the booking office had said otherwise. The staff at the restaurant is very warm and hospitable, all young boys, but certainly not lacking in service. Resort is 1.6 kms from the main road, and condition is not good in patches but certainly motorable. Property has quite a few walking paths, mostly leading to rooms. Apart from the areas around the rooms maintenance seems lacking, especially around the lake. Staff is wonderful, accommodating and warm. They went all out to keep us happy, and comfortable.
Nice Hotel, Food could be better

We stayed here for 2 nights during our tour of the area and were upgraded to a studio room. Room/studio was fine,it had sitting area, outiside area, hall way with fridge and tea/coffee making and well furnished bedroom with lovely views. No issues with the room at all, it was clean and comfortable with aircon, fan, in room safe,WiFi and good bedding. Our sudio was on the ground floor and although there was an outside sitting area the trees/bushes/plants were too overgrown to see out. Quiet at night with beautiful dawn chorus in the morning. Bathroom needed TLC. Smell of disinfectant/insect killer was very strong, we had to ask for additional towels and the door to the outside shower would not close so anything (insects/vermin) could get into the room. Inside shower was large but had nowhere to put things. Bathroom had jacuzzi bath however it did not look inviting . Our room was some walk away from the main hotel buildings, not a problem for us but maybe for the less mobile. Rooms were dotted around a fairly large area of former coffee planation. Nothing close by the hotel at all. Hotel had a zip wire and jungle walkway in its grounds together with a swimming pool and spar. Food was not the best with only a buffet available. Other guests were walking around the buffet area eating food whilst putting food on their plates which we found quite off-putting. There is a bar however it was never opened however you could get beer, spirits and wine. Breakfast was mainly indian however they made great fresh french toast. It was nice to look out over the pool whilst eating breakfast. All in all the resort is perfectly fine, with some improvements to the bathroom and better food it could be good. As usual in india staff were all helful, polite and pleasant.
Excellent location + good service

Excellent location right in the middle of a coffee plantation. Mr Kumar gave us a very informative Plantation walk. Courteous staff. Room was clean and spacious, but could use some maintenance / refurbishment. Food was amazing - but the buffet dinner was a bit pricey. Will try to stay longer the time if we are there.
run down feel and damp rooms
by LittleBeach12 on
What a sad and oppressive place despite its beautiful location! The hotel has a very neglected feel about it and is in desperate need of some TLC. My first room (on the bottom floor) smelled so musty and damp that I moved to a different room one set of stairs up,and whilst this one wasn't quite as musty-smelling the duvet felt really damp at night and it wasnt nice to get into bed at all. Windflower is in a beautiful location and serves great breakfast but definitely has seen better days...laundry service wasn't available, either and there was a distinctive shortage of toilet paper...
The Windflower Resort and Spa, Coorg

I visited this place on 5th Jan 2020 with my husband. I can give three words for this fantastic place.Relax,Rejuvenate and Refresh. This quaint picturesque place in the woods amongst the coffee plantation is really what one needs to get out of this fast paced monotonous robotic life that we are living today. It reminded me of the winter holidays I spent with my grandparents in Kerala. Simple living, good food, good air and good vibes. The clean air,no pollution, the lovely rooms. A bathroom with outdoor shower, bathtub and indoor shower. Its designed in a way that father(Tarzan) can bathe outdoors, mum(Jane) relax in the tub and baby(Jack) safely in the indoors shower. I would like to specially mention about Sangeeth Sundar(Music) whom we met in the Dining area.We felt like we had visited his home and we were treated like special guests. Very polite, courteous and with a good sense of humour he recommended to us what we should have. I wish we had extended our stay, but alas some commitments compelled us to leave on Jan 7th 2020 morning. Definitely recommend and will visit again for a longer stay.
