We were 11 of us who visited this place. The owner mr.manu is a well mannered gentleman who takes care of his guests like his own family. It's 17kms ahead than Madikeri town. If one is a lover of nature, trekking, falls, authentic Kodagu food, if one wants to get away from one's regular busy life without any disturbance and the hustle bustle of city life, Valley Dew is the place. We 11 went and had a awesome experience. Regarding service it's good and friendly. Regarding rooms if you are in a group better to go this place as all can accommodate in one room. There is 24hrs hot water available. We 11 are service class people and easily afford the place. There new stay building is also good. The tent stay, camp fire, etc were good without any charges. Mr.Manu worked out a very affordable, flexible, healthy, perfect package and schedule for us. The sunrise point visit from Madikeri town in jeeps are sky rocketing price here for 11 of us in 1 jeep(standing) is very affordable. Manu sir cooperated with us in every step. As part of the package the pick & drop of us from Madikeri town was a great drive. Absolutely cooperative staff. Absolutely authentic chef. Apart from the regular menu we could easily mould our items too in the menu which was cooked absolutely delicious. Absolutely hygiene place. Rooms, beds, blankets, etc all were good. Thanks Mr.Manu for the excellent hospitality rendered. Regards

I had visited this home stay in early May 2017 with my colleagues for a team outing & I can't just explain the pathetic experience I & my colleagues had. First of all, we had no idea that this home stay is 8-9 kms away from the nearest town/village, on top of this absolutely no mobile connectivity at all. The surroundings surely looks fantastic, but the food, service, rooms & hospitality were a big downer. The food served was horrible, as if we are jail inmates. No variety, repeated menu for lunch & dinner, it lacked the basic elements i.e. salt n spice. Breakfast was a big let-down as well. Every additional item other than the menu was exorbitantly priced, due to the fact that this place is far off from the nearest town/village. The staff were inattentive, the owner nonchalant about our complaints. They should highly improvise their service, I was surely disappointed with the place. Wouldnt recommend to anyone, unless you are not concerned with the food & other basic amenities. It is a big rip-off with the amount charged for one night.

Worst Home stay ever visited. We were a group of 35 Rotarians who had planned for a trek to Mandalpatti. Absolutely no basic facilities provided. The bathrooms had no latches and badly maintained. Food was Horrible. They have dormitories with beds of size 2ft x 2ft. Blankets which can fit only 5yrs kids. Tents with no bedding was provided and they expect the guests to sleep on grass. If extra people were to accommodate, then they would provide sheds , which are more comfortable for cows and buffaloes. Anything and everything you ask for is rated extra. Though we enjoyed our trek, the stay ruined our whole journey and enjoyment.

First, the bad. They have 4-5 rooms with 5-7 beds in each. Only 1 bathroom per room. The rooms are damp and dark, with only 1-2 cfl bulbs. This kind of setup may be ideal for school trips, where kids don't care about presentation as long as they are all together having fun. Not great for families or people who care about aesthetics. Now that that's out of the way, here are the positives : The location is superb! It's 26 kms from the main road, and only accessible by 4x4 vehicles and trucks. No mobile networks though, so be prepared. If you go during the monsoons like I did, its gonna rain pretty much non stop. But even watching the rain from here feels magical. There is a beautiful waterfall half a km away. The food is good, and the staff are quite accommodating. They offer to take you to nearby mandalpatti by jeep, and its 2500 per jeep, carrying 8-10 people. Didn't get to try this, as we were short on time and it was raining incessantly, but I'm sure it'll be a wonderful experience. I couldn't help feeling that they could do much more with the place if they really wanted to. It's a really lovely location.

Though i had been going to Madikeri every year, this time i chose an offbeat place. Valley dew is between Suntikoppa and Somwarpet near Hattihole. The road to this place is bad but drivable. The property is closer to Harangi river and the waterfall is 500m from this place. It was serene, evergreen and beautiful location with misty mountains around. We went to Madalpatti with the 4x4 at the resort and a 8km trekking to a nearest mountain peak. Overall a very good place for family and bachelors as well. No mobile network available at this place.
