Resort and service is top class. Food is below average. Journey is the toughest. I feel that the owners may not make even a thousand rupees from this. Since the salaries and maintenance costs them too much. I think only because of the passion, they are maintaining them. If they can improve the quality of food, I will give 5 out of 5 rating.

All the the tiredness of the long drive from Bangalore and the winding, bumpy roads vanished when I stepped into this resort. The reception itself is calm, beautiful and open. The view of the waterfall in the property from the dining area makes it special. There is a separate area for children with many games. The rooms are big and spacious, so are the bathrooms. Interiors are elegantly done with sufficient amenities. Lot of greenery around , and you can walk along the stream and near the waterfalls. Being a vegetarian,I had ample options in food. No network is available but wifi is good and sufficient to be in touch with the world when required. There is a swimming pool in the property from which the waterfall can be viewed . Overall a great experience and would love to visit again.

Stayed there with family for two nights with decent expectations due to previous reviews. The resort is marvellously built but the problem is the service levels and overpricing of rooms. Pros: Away from hustle and bustle of main city Private waterfall Serene Jungle Good Food Cons: Overpriced as compared to similar 4 star hotels in Coorg Bad approach roads Lack of activities especially in Monsoon season but rates are still the same! Average service (First day hand towels were missing in room, our soap was not changed the second day) Broken stuff at activity room (Nearly all the stuff at the resort activity center was broken and was beyond use) On the other side of coorg.Even the nearest cigarette shop is 20 Kms away!

Welcome To The Jungle I traveled to this place with my wife Actress Pooja Ramachandran as a part of the birthday celebratory week for a friend, Actress Tejasvi Madiwada. Little did I know that its gonna be one of the best places we could have ever stayed. To be more specific let me start from the top. Me and my wife drove from Chennai to this property. I would advice that since the location of this property is literally in the jungle you may not have network on the way lets say about 3 hours away from the property. So its best advisable to store an online map on google maps. The property is literally tucked away in the jungle. The name of the property In Ayatana, which means Sanctuary in Sanskrit and its a bang on name for the property. So as soon as you enter the main gate you will notice a huge gate where the security will ask you whether you have a booking and then he shall crosscheck the same with the reception and then give you access. They also allow walk-ins but the rights of admission are reserved to the property. I like this security aspect as it gives privacy to the people staying there and only the people who have a booking have access to the property as once you drive down you will realize that very rarely shall anyone walk-in to the Jungle. After you enter the gate you have to drive a bit before you reach the reception but then that drive will blow your mind as you will come to realize that its a piece of paradise. Owing to the wilderness aspect of this property there is absolutely no network access but the property has Wi-Fi throughout which is great so you can still be connected to your friends and family. Its a 110 acres property so you can imagine how vast the property is. It has a great lobby which is partially open on one side so you can see the property and the trees and just listen to the sound of nature. Once you finish the check-in formalities you shall be taken to the room in a nice buggy driven by really efficient drivers. As you walk into your room you will realize that the property is much more beautiful when you reach there and see it yourself. Each room has an awesome balcony where you could just sit and have a drink or a cup of coffee while listening to all the possible sounds of nature. The interiors of the rooms are really classy and you will notice that they have take time and effort into each and every detail in the room while designing the interiors. The bedroom has a glass and a mosquito door that faces the Jungle and you could just wake up to lush green trees of the Jungle. Its a great place to spot some exotic birds like the Kingfisher, Babbling Brook and so on. You may also spot a few exotic non poisonous snakes and crabs too if you are lucky. Do make sure you carry your trekking shoes and trekking gear as its an amazing place to trek also because if you do venture into the Jungle for a trek there are leeches so just to be safe. The property does not have room service. The meal pattern they follow is an American Plan which included Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. They also have a high tea in the evening as well. All meals can be had in the restaurant only. The only thing you can order from the room is Alcohol. The best place to chill in the property is at the restaurant which overlooks the Waterfall which is by far one of the best natural ambiance I have seen in the hotels that I have ever stayed. The hotel has its own RO (Reverse Osmosis) plant so there is no need to buy water which is a great initiative by the property to discourage people from buying plastic water bottles also each room is equipped with 3 glass bottles filled with drinking water which is replenished daily by the House-Keeping department and you can ask for more if you need any as well. Its by far one of the most romantic places that I have seen and I can confidently say that its an amazing place and a must visit for couples. It also makes for a great place to have corporate outings and family outings as well. The property also has an infinity pool which directly overlooks the Waterfall. They have an amazing sports and recreation room right below the bar where you could play Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, a mini Bow and arrow with a dart board and a small play area for the kids as well. For the ones who likes to just grab a drink they also have a great bar which stores some amazing wines and spirits and it overlooks the waterfall as well. The bar area also has a pool table and some board games for the board game lovers like Jenga, Monopoly, Poker, Dog and the Bone, Scrabble, Pictionary, Roulette, etc, They also have a live singing night in the bar hosted by a talented singer called Sonalina who can sing English and Hindi Songs as well. The hotel staff is really warm, efficient and extremely receptive to your needs and requests. A few people whose name stuck to my head were Sushma- the restaurant hostess who will always greet you with a smile and check on whether your meal was alright and take feedback if any, Sam Singh- another hardworking guest service associate who will tend your requests quickly, Swamy-a soft spoken and an efficient guest service associate and lastly the smiling - Shining who always has a smile on his face and will tend to your requests in a jiffy. They also have an amazing Spa room where you could pamper yourself while watching the flowing streams. The property also has a really hardworking House-Keeping team who makes sure that rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, linen is changed and toiletries are replenished too. You can call for a buggy if you need to move around in the property at any time. The property also arranges for small treks to Mallalli waterfalls, Dodabetta peak , and some other places nearby too at a fixed cost. One of the best rooms the property has is the Presidential Suite which has an Open Jacuzzi and nothings beats the feeling of sitting in a nice hot water Jacuzzi opening into the Jungle. Each of the rooms are built in such a way that they give a feel of Tree Huts. Another amazing feature about the property is that each balcony has its privacy so you just be yourself without worrying about anyone seeing you. The property also has some adventure sports for the adrenaline junkies as well. Its one of the very few luxury property that allows Pets as well so a big thumbs up for all the pet lovers who can vacation with their pets happily. We visited this property during monsoon because we love rains. Overall I can sum it up by saying that its a must-visit place for vacationers looking for an overall amazing experience of Nature and Wilderness packed in with some adventure. Kudos to the owner Vishal Vincent Tony for coming up with such an amazing property.
