Camp Hornbill is a nature's paradise. Lush green surroundings with 'Khichidi' river flowing near by, it is a dream come true for nature lovers especially, ornithologists. The Camp is an excellent example of how to recycle every waste, how to use in-house organic farm products and promote local cuisine (kumaoni food). Their staff is extremely helpful, polite, hospitable and accommodating. Shekhar, Naveen, Balwant, Pankaj, Dhani ji (excellent cook).....their love for nature is visible in every part of the camp. Camp Hornbill teaches young and adults how to be a part of nature and why it is important more so now and wildlife exploration is much more than tiger safaris. If you like your loud music, 24x7 room service and the comforts of your house, then this camp is not for you. STAY AWAY ! Camp Hornbill is fighting a battle with resorts that are mushrooming in and around the village, who care less for air - noise - water pollution. Take a walk around the village and you would know the difference. If you want your city life, then PLEASE STAY IN A CITY! We all can learn a lot about nature preservation from Camp Hornbill. Listen to their success stories, their struggles and passion about nature. Take a walk in the village; have lunch in a farmer's house. Talk to them....hear them. I had a wonderful 4-day stay and I thank each and every member of the Camp and of course, Naveen's Little Daughter as well :)

A peaceful and relaxing experience: Camp Hornbill is a beautiful campsite in Kyari village which is completely untouched and retains its closeness with nature. This campsite is not your typical commercial resort as it brings great opportunities to experience nature in its most untouched form. A team of youngsters who are dedicated to nature and ensuring a memorable stay for their guests: The campsite is managed by an incredible team who keep the environment and a peaceful experience for guests above all else and this reflects in their warm interaction with the guests. We are truly grateful to the Camp Hornbill team: Bhaskar, Shekar, Pankaj, Malkeet and Naving for making our stay a memorable experience. They were very kind and accommodating towards our requests. An incredible experience- especially for children and all nature enthusiasts: Bhaskar is the resident naturalist who brings a lot of expertise in the native birds, plants and insects of the region. The forest hikes, bird watching, and even dirt biking guided by Bhaskar are full of learning which helps guests connect better with the environment. This is why Camp Hornbill is especially a must visit for children so they can learn more about the environment in a unique way. Wholesome, relaxing and rejuvenating: The choice of menu and food served at Camp Hornbill were especially wholesome. Our mornings would begin with a choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate or even lemongrass tea. The lemongrass tea was prepared from fresh lemongrass sourced from the organic kitchen garden at the campsite. The food was nutritious, simple and wholesome and felt almost detoxifying especially after a long travel. Unique diwali: We spent our diwali in Camp Hornbill and the team had lit diyas for our mudhouse and were truly kind and accommodating for our requirements for celebrating Diwali too! A stay at Camp hornbill is an unmatched experience that money cannot by. The commercial resorts cannot achieve how the young team of Camp Hornbill ensure an experience of a lifetime for their guests! We are deeply grateful and hope to visit frequently!

We travelled to Corbett Tiger Reserve, Uttarakhand for work and were recommended Camp Hornbill to stay at. It was indeed a wonderful experience! Located in the model village of Kyari, it is just half an hour ride through a forest from the nearest town Ramnagar.which connects to other villages bordering the CTR. Self sufficient and well cared for, we stayed at the 'Barbet' Mud Hut right next to the river Khichadi whose water provided the soundtrack for our stay, along with the bird calls from within the camp site and beyond. The dwellings at the camp follow eco-friendly principles, with all-natural finishes - mud plaster walls, a traditional thatch roof, stone pathways - all very well-maintained. The place was clean and minimal - just the kind of place to stay when sharing boundaries with a forest. The camp is filled with trees and birds, a real naturalist's delight! Naveen and his team are caring hosts - attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and locally sourced. We'd recommend Camp Hornbill for those who appreciate wildlife and nature, a place fitting for the unique reserve that is CTR.

My stay here was a very special experience! For anyone looking out for a relaxing, adventurous, comfortable and educational visit- this is it! If you want to understand aspects of local culture, wildlife and get the most calming sleep- camp hornbill is the place! The camp itself has rich biodiversity; sound of the river and the fire fly sightings are the most magical way of ending the night. The camp hornbill team is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The mud cottages are beautifully made and very comfortable. I highly recommend Camp Hornbill to anyone visiting Uttarakhand!

If you are looking for a no frills, unwind vacation then this is your go to place. We visited Camp Hornbill in monsoons for a leisure weekend and it was all that we needed. The camp is located next to a beautiful river where you can take a morning stroll or just walk inside the camp and your bird watching eye will be truly satisfied. Naveen and everyone at the camp as great hosts and they will comply to any special requests. The rooms are rustic mud houses and very comfy. Plenty of variety in the food that is served on buffet and everything is delicious. Adventure activities, nature walks are also on offer for those interested. Great for families with kids to bring them closer to nature and just experience tranquility.
