We visited in last weekend with the batchmates with spouses in a gettogether. The Resort's location is very good. But the maintenance is very poor. The campus is full of dirt. The management must take steps for cleanliness surrounding and defects inside the rooms.

The place is located at a distance of 9 kms from PhulNakhara Jn and 6 kms from Eastern Engg College and 500 mtrs from water park. The place is good for day out with friends and families as they provide their property free of cost or includes in the meal price. The location is also ideal for children and ladies to roam and play. There's a small pool inside the Resort to chill out there. Food quite tasty. Overall a nice experience.

Note: All the positive reviews on this page you find are not for this property. There is one Amrapalli at main Bhubaneswar city near railway station. Many have written reviews regarding that Amrapalli, while the one about which I am writing is this Amrapalli resort which is located in a secluded place far far away from either Cuttack or Bhubaneswar. I intend to write a honest review based on my experience of 4 nights here. I was attending a conference in Bhubaneswar and booked this place based on reviews I read. Apart helpful housekeeping staff, one can boast about the calm and peace this place encompasses. However, there are few things you must know, before you go ahead and book. I did not know these and hence I ended up feeling cheated. So let's review this property in detail. Location: It's around 30 km away from Bhubaneswar, 30 km away from Cuttack and around 100 km away from Puri. It's an extremely bad idea to stay here without having your own vehicle. Therw is literally nothing around. Even room service is not 24 hours. So, after 10 pm if you are hungry, you will have to grapple with hunger till next morning, since there is no point going out and hunting for something to munch. Ola/Uber rarely caters this location unless you book Ola rental or outstation. Resort has its own vehicle service- but this service is unreliable and sometimes make you end up feeling cheated. I will explain this aspect later. For someone seeking peace and calm, maybe it's a good idea to stay here. However, during my stay calm was forever absent. Every now and then, some group staying here will resort to playing music at highest volume for hours together at night. Even the resort would setup sound systems for some group events and keep testing the system whole day. Food: This part was extremely disappointing. It's inexplicable how one hotel can go wrong in every food ordered in 3 consecutive nights. Dinner menu is pretty limited. 80 % of items were unavailable. I think my bad experience with food must be because I was able to only have dinner here. Lunch might be good, but I doubt. DO NOT choose breakfast while buying stay package. It's complete waste of money. On paper, breakfast is supposed to start at 8 am. On day 1, breakfast was not ready till 9.30. I had to go hungry to work, since I had no time to wait till 9.30 am. On day 2, breakfast was idli wada. And it was pathetically tasteless. On day 3 it was again idli wada. Fortunately, housekeeping staff are good natured and honest. One had become very friendly with me during my stay. He told me not have idli wadas since they were leftovers from previous day! Amenities: Very basic. Room is minimalist. There is AC, TV, empty minibar, small washroom armed with geyser and 24 hours water facility. Electricity isn't 24 hours though. Keeps going and coming, although there is power backup which takes around 10 minutes to kick in. Service and staff: People were generally nice and helpful, except the owner. They would listen to all your requests and try their best to keep you satisfied. There are two managers who man the reception. Both are really nice people. But they have very limited resources to help you out. Dealing with owner was an experience of different level. You get an immediate realisation of an air of stark stinginess and dishonesty. I vividly recall an incidence where I realised I was getting duped and I was helpless against it. For my work, I was as regularly using the resort's cab service and I had informed I would need bills for this service. I was getting charged Rs 700 per trip for drop to Bhubaneswar every day, while Ola was charging Rs. 250 which I used while returning from Bhubaneshwar everyday. Last day of my stay, I wanted had to reach Puri after check-out. I wanted to reach Puri by 12 pm. Previous night, I had requested for a cab from resort for this trip. They honestly informed me cab is not available till 12 pm and fare was Rs 2000. But, I had no option but accept their proposal that I take cab after 12 pm. In the meanwhile, next day, my friend arranged for a cab which came to pick me up at 9 am. This cab was charging me Rs 1150. So, I informed the reception that I will not be using the cab service and packed up for checkout. During checkout, the owner intervened and demanded I pay a hefty cancellation fee. I requested him to not to charge this fees, since I had already informed. The cancellation fees itself did not make sense, because it was more than 70% of total fare. The owner told me vendor has already released the can from Bhubaneswar and was on the way, and they had already transferred the fees. This looked suspicious to me. However, I went to the cab driver who had come to pick me up and paid him Rs 250 to cancel the current engagement. By 12 pm, the resort booked cab came to pick me up. While making all the necessary payments I asked for bills. This time the owner said, bills cannot be provided. I was stunned. But, I stood my ground and said I would need bills else I won't pay. After a while he prepared bills. But the charges were all inflated. He explained me if I need bills, GST would be charged extra. But my fares already were with taxes included. I argued a bit and then realised it's best to get out of this as fast as possible and never return. Both the managers were sympathetic to me but silent, since they cannot supersede the owner. SoI made all the payments, got my bills, and boarded my cab. One of the managers actually approached me later to say sorry. It was when I boarded my cab that the final deception became evident. The cab as well as the driver were familiar to me- two days back I was driven by same set to Bhubaneswar. The driver was a nice man. I casually asked him whose cab it was. He simple mindedly revealed that cab belonged to resort's owner!! There was no vendor involved. I was simply lied to. Problem with this cheap strategy is that I will never come back to this resort, nor will I recommend anyone.
