What's Good: Room was very nice and well maintained and clean. We had a booking in Super Deluxe room for the first night and royal classic for the second night due to unavailability of the same room, but we were offered royal classic room for both the days without any extra charges. Hospitality was very good. Overall very good experience. I will definitely recommend this hotel.
What needs to improve : Not as such.

a very nice hotel close to the main market areas
by tauruskvs on September 13, 2017
We stayed in this hotel for two days in May 2017. The hotel is very conveniently located near to the Main Centre and moving around to other places is not much of a problem, ecept that you will have to climb up the steep steps/incline which is a feature of all hill stations. The hotel is neatly maintained and serves some very good food. The Restaurant manager is an ecellent host and takes care of the guests personally. The food is quite sumptous and tasty. A few metres from the hotel is a place from where you can see the valley and a beautiful sunset, provided the sky is clear. A walk up to the DC office provides you lovely views of the mountain ranges in the distance, besides providing some good views of the valley. Climb up a few steep steps and then walk about 200 mts and you come to the best point to view the sunrise as well as the valley below and the distant mountains. Worth the effort to get up early and see this lovely scene. Besides it is a very good place for birdwatchers and you can spot atleast 40 to 50 species during your walk.

Rooms were good, with balcony and all. A bit old style though. But that true for most hotels in dalhousie. Not too far from the main market and bus stand. Just the walk is a little scary in the dark. There is a nice garden and a closed swimming pool in the basement which we never used. The food at the hotel is decent enough and the staff is reasonably responsive. One problem we faced at the hotel. On seeing the lift here, we took higher floor room. But on the next day the lift stopped working. Not the hotels fault though. Some college group idiots overloaded it seems. The problem was since it took a guy from the lift company to come from Chandigarh to get it repaired, we never saw the lift working again. We had to climb the stairs all the time which was a pain. Think all such hotels need to have a backup lift too. I know most of these hotels are pretty old and having a lift itself is a rarity. You will still find some old hotel with 4-5 storey and without lift. This holds true for entire himachal belt. But, yes things do progress. I do expect every hotels to be modernised if they expect to be in business. Everything fine with the hotel though. Consider this if staying in Dalhousie.
Don't get misleaded by the pictures of the hotel
by Vallabh K on July 8, 2017
The pictures of the front view of the hotel on various portals are misleading, we kept looking for the hotel for half an hour once we reached there.. The only good thing about the hotel is the manager of the hotel, Sharma ji.. He is very courteous & an adorable guy. He helped us at various occasions as we kept demanding for late night dinners & he never said no. Overall an okay place, but if you were to choose a better location, it's not too far from this hotel, it's just located opposite to this hotel, Indraprastha hotel.. a much better hotel in terms of approach & aesthetics, interiors, space, etc.

Worst experience...pathetic hospitality services I was at this hotel with my family from 23 june to 26 june 2017 and had advanced booking through travel agency. We were so annoyed and had a nightmare experience at this hotel. Will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone i know.. 1. Location is very misguiding. Though the hotel was near to bus stand but there are no directions or boards to the entry gate from the congested surroundings as all the nearby hotels are at one place. We were struck in jam around the hotel because driver took upper way instead of lower one because there was no board..we informed the managers also but they were least bothered whether we reach there or go back to our place..it took us 4 hours to enter the hotel.. 2. The staff at the reception (there were 2 persons) was so rude, arrogant and rough..they had least sense of hospitality towrads guests..we have never seen such lazy and stubborn people at recption.. 3. No mineral water bottle was provided which is given even by small hotels nowadays.. 4. Cleanliness is a big issue. Bathroom was very dirty..floor was black with dirt and seemed as if it is never cleaned. Their pillows and blankets smelt badly as if never washed..the comod was very dirty which they never cleaned inspite of asking many times.. 5. Food was ok ok..they dont have decent crockery..they give square plastic plates which look very kiddish...food is not so tasty but manageable..it was edible 6. We had to check out at 7 am..we requested for some breakfast like sandwiches or even tea only..but the rude staff at reception denied clearly..which is so unlike our experience with other hotels which provide at least tea and sandwiches in case of early checkouts.. 7. While checking out, we had to carry our luggage ourselves from 5th floor to ground one since the person at reception was deep asleep at 6 30 am..no help was sent for this..there was all dark at recption...and the person was not getting up inspite of us standing there and asking him to get up to at least clear up the bills.....least bothered he was..this is the worst kind of hospitality i have seen in any of my trips where the hotel staff does not care whether some guests are checking out or not..no ettiquetes.. We had such bad experience that we were praying for our stay to get over and return to delhi... Bad bad bad experience
Family Accommodation - Very Dedicated Staff
by B H D on June 14, 2017
Was there for 3 Nights with Pre booking from Pune. They offered us two choices for Room - One with excellent view but without elevator and another one in main hotel with a elevator but not so great view. Since it was 3 day stay, we preferred one with a view on the 4 th floor. Staff is very friendly and happy to help with a smile. Our plan was with breakfast and dinner, both satisfactory, enough choices. Sweet dish included. Happened to meet owner Mr. Mahajan, great man and knows all about hospitality. Rooms are adequately furnished. Location is more than perfect. Only road to the hotel is not done up and its narrow. Otherwise nice, quiet and secluded hotel. Will definitely stay here for lot longer and enjoy nature. Wish they can offer some Gujarati foods too.
view from the balcony of the hotel is good but not so great as it is in the valley and not at the hill top. spacious rooms,
