I visited Serene Ravine with my 7 year old daughter and a couple of friends. We booked for the rice plantation activity that they have every year. To say the least, it was a wonderful experience! Clean, well appointed rooms, excellent food, very very good service, I would definitely rate this as one of my best homestay experiences so far. The hosts are so warm and fun, and what I loved the most, is that the Tulpule family sat down to eat their meals with us.... What better proof of quality of food and hygiene can one give! The property is beautiful, and it absolutely lives up to the description provided on the website.... And much more, I would say! I am looking forward to visiting again with my entire family. :)

I usually love exploring the nature. I believe in the saying," Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better A lovely serene place in the middle of nature is what Serene Ravine Homestay is all about. The couple hosting us Shekhar and Kalyani are extremely warm and friendly people. I went there with my friends and kids. In the lap of nature this place is spread over approximately 12 acres and has a beautiful scenic waterfall. We enjoyed the Rice Plantation organised by them and subsequent fun at their waterfall front. The food served was absolutely divine and lips smacking. Food prepared was simple yet appetizing. Each day had a different menu and believe me it was worth dying for!! The rooms were clean and airy. All in all a beautiful place to unwind away from traffic, network and a place where u can gain all your oxygen back and have long walks in the green acres enjoying the nature along with the Flora and Fauna of the western ghats. I strongly recommend this place.

Stayed at Serene Ravine with family for 2 days in May-2018. It is absolutely an amazing place and quiet as well. Away from the city noise and pollution. Even in summers it was very pleasant. This place is blessed with nature. We visited this place in the season of Mango and Fish festival. The food served here was very tasty with lot of variety; we enjoyed it a lot. Owners, Shekhar and Kalyani were very welcoming. In all it was very wonderful experience and I would definitely visit this place again.

This is my fourth visit to this place and now feel like a part of their family. I especially want to mention their rice plantation activity that happens during July. I did that last year and it was an great learning experience. Getting your hands dirty while learning the process of planting rice is an eye opener and your respect towards farmers doubles up. At the same time, there is SO MUCH FUN in doing this activity. Shekhar & Kalyani (hosts) and their staff make it look easy and fun for us. Ohh and the waterfall bath after getting dirty is the best!! Thank you so much for starting this activity for kids and adults as everyone learns while having fun together.

Words cannot do justice to some of the wonderful travel experiences. You need to experience it yourselves. Our stay at Serene Ravine was one such experience. I will still attempt to describe our stay at Serene Ravine Home stay. Serene Ravine is located next to a river in a valley with lot of greenery. It is a 12 acre property with majority area occupied by plantations. It is absolutely a tranquil location where you can sit in the balcony or in the garden listening to chirping of birds, sit next to the river, enjoy the breeze, read your favourite books or have conversations with each other and hosts. We were able to truly enjoy the atmosphere and calmness since there was no mobile connectivity/wifi and so thankfully no whatsapp messages to disturb you (but dont worry. There is a tata indicom phone in the property in case you need to contact anyone). It is owned and managed by Shekhar & Kalyani Tulpule, who are absolutely wonderful hosts. Since, both of them live at Serene Ravine, they give personal attention to all the guests, ensure the food quality is great and look after maintenance of the property. Their son is a great kid and is happy to play with the guests kids. Even Shekhars parents visit occasionally and are equally wonderful hosts. We had some delightful conversations with the entire Tulpule family during our both the stays. We first visited the property in September 2017 with our two kids. We were the only guests during those 2 days and hence we got exclusive attention of the hosts. It was an outstanding experience and we regretted not being able to stay more. Hence, we immediately booked our next stay for the year end with our parents. That experience was equally awesome despite it being a peak holiday season. What we loved about Serene Ravine? Spacious and well maintained rooms with lot of natural lights and good amenities Wonderful & delightful hosts who were always there to look after us and who engaged in nice conversations. The hospitality was a real highlight of our stay. Shekhar came himself to pick us up from the train station and also came to drop us. Shekhar also took us to the local fish market and asked us to choose the fish that we would like to eat. It was a memorable experience. Kalyani personally monitored the cooking activities ensuring good quality of food. Both of them also took us for walks in their plantations and explained the farming activities that they are doing The property is In the middle of a jungle with super calm environment and absolutely no noise pollution. You can spend time just sitting not doing anything in the garden, in the plantations or next to the river. You can see a variety of birds in the property If you enjoy walking, you can take walks in the plantations, walk along the river or can visit the hills opposite the property for some nice views Food variety and quality was one of the highlights of both our visits. It was homely maharashtrian/ Konkani style tasty food. We enjoyed especially the fish dishes as the fresh catch was finely cooked in different ways. Also, the ukadiche modaks were wonderfully cooked. We are club Mahindra members and the food tastes almost the same every day and in every resort. So, the variety and quality of food at serene ravine was a great experience. The dining area is aesthetically decorated and overall experience was very pleasant. We also found pricing of fish dishes very reasonable for the quality and portion size that was served. When we reached the property, my daughter complained that there was no swimming pool. Shekhar & Kalyani took us to the river for swimming which was a far superior experience for all of us as compared to swimming in a pool. My daughter fondly remembers the experience of swimming in the river. Unfortunately, we didnt attempt the river swimming when we visited again in December since the water was very cold. Dont miss this experience!!! If you are going in monsoon, you can also enjoy the private waterfall in the property. Check with Shekhar about water levels before booking as the waterfall in not available throughout the year There are 4 dogs, several cats, cows and goats which was a great attraction for kids. My kids spent lot of time just sitting in front of the enclosures where these animals were kept What one should remember? Rooms are spacious and well maintained. They have only one family suite on the ground floor and so if you need a room on ground floor, book well in advance. This is not a resort but a homestay managed by owners. It is lot of hard work and Tulpule family have done a great job of maintaining this property well. If you are looking for resort like experience with entertainment activities such as swimming pool, pool table, games, dance floor etc., dont stay here. We were glad that there were no such facilties. We did not miss any of those activities and spend lot of time sitting in the garden sipping tea/ coffee, walking in the plantations and just enjoying the atmosphere. The road from Dapoli to the Serene Ravine (distance of about 9kms) is not in a good shape but one can manage by driving at slow speed This is home of Tulpule family. And as in maharashtrian homes, you are expected to remove the footwear outside. It really helps in maintaining the cleanliness of the rooms and dining area. Guests are provided with home slippers, which is helpful during winters or to guests who are not used to barefoot walking inside the house. The nearest beach is about 30 minutes away. So, in case you are looking for a beach holiday, stay somewhere else.
