We stayed there for three nights. We drove there from Ahmednagar via Bhor and Mahad, i.e. Varandha Bhor ghat which was a big mistake. Never try that road. From Bhor to Mahad, it's fifty kilometres of hell. We had our Tata Grande DiCor so we pulled through, but for small cars and the compact SUVs ...my advice is to AVOID. Instead use Mahabaleshwar route. It is safer and better. Whichever route you choose, remember that your average speed would be not more than 40km/hr. From Dapoli to Ladghar beach is a short drive. This 'resort' is situated just opposite the Ladghar beach, separated by a thin strip of road. There is enough parking space. There are some AC cottages ( seven, I think) and some AC and non AC rooms. Total twenty. You need to contact them on the phone and deposit some amount to confirm the booking. It is easy enough. Please carry cash there as there is no internet connection and you can't use your credit/debit cards. The cottages are made of ply boards with false ceiling which is covered by tiles. They are not soundproof. There is a small verandah outside every cottage with a table and a few chairs...one can choose to eat/drink there instead of the common dining area. The verandah has a ceiling fan too...which helps. The cottage we had had one single and one double (queen sized) bed. One cupboard type closet and a very small bedside table. It had one LCD 20" TV with cable connection, an AC and a wall mounted mirror. The attached bathroom had a shower, taps for hot and cold water, a commode and a very tiny wash basin. The bathroom had no exhaust fan. The bed mattresses were firm but not hard. There were two soft pillows for each of us and some extra half sized ones ( why? ). The sheets were clean and freshly washed. No smell or stains. No dampness for which Konkan is famous. The floor was tiled but not carpeted. The cottage had one window each on two walls, with sliding glass panes and curtains. There were LED bulbs, a night lamp(yellow) and a ceiling fan...quiet. The AC worked. No noise, supercooled. No dripping. Once or twice there was power outage but they have generator backup. No worry. The breakfast was complimentary if you don't want that, they serve something else .If you do then you pay. You pay for meals and tea also. Clean drinking water is free. Food was tasty and portions were more than adequate. I tried fish and prawns which were fresh. They have veg thali and non veg thali (fish or chicken) or dishes made to order. They don't provide alcohol but one can have his /her own supply. They provided me with ice bucket and nice glasses. Nobody frowns at you. The beach is a narrow strip of black sand. Fairly clean. There are no localities except hotels so I saw no garbage piled up anywhere but the tide does bring some to the beach... like some bottles or cartons. The sea is a different story. The water is brown to black coloured with a amber yellow tinge. Hence it is called 'tamas tirtha'. I don't know if it is polluted or it is a natural phenomenon. But it didn't smell. There are no life guards on the beach. There are a few parasailing operators on the beach. The parasailing is done with the help of a jeep (on the beach itself, not with a boat on the sea). I didn't do it. But it looked like fun. Saw no other sports. There are a few local attractions like temples and memorials of poets and leaders. A Word of Advice ...don't bother. All temples in Konkan are tiny and dilapidated. Same goes with the memorials. So just enjoy the place and the sea. Pros: One of very few professionally run hotels with plenty of staff and good food. Right on the beach. Frequented by decent crowd...no hillibilly. Everything ... AC, shower works. Cons Too far. No internet connection...no wifi. BSNL worked but no data! (Idea and Vodafone work ...they told me) Sea water is not clear, the colour itself is a big let down. No water sports like Karde beach or Tarkarli. (But please ask around.) And finally ...especially for newly weds ... the cottages are made of ply boards so ... not just the bed but the whole cottage creaks ! You know !!

The best part of this place is no mobile signal except Vodafone and BSNL. Second best part is that its on the beach. You step out and you are on the beach. Third is value for money. A 4 person AC accommodation in 2K. Well the rooms are very basic as are the toilets. Though you get hot water in the tap. For food you have to order in advance but the taste is good. Don't miss the solkadi and modaks.

As we have always stayed in the MTDC resorts.. and from that state of mind when we went to Dapoli.. This Sea Touch resort-cum-hotel is totally different. It is just like an average home.. though located near the beach.. just initially we need to get used to it.. but later as the ambience and all the people they are all such good and homely we enjoyed.. it was as if we were staying on a lonely island.. places are very secured and enjoyble.. the beach becomes ur property.. just an advice is that it may get heavily loaded with people in holiday ie peak season so i suggest u people to go either at the start of the holiday or at end of holiday.. but it is very good to have a home away from ur home...
