The room felt cold and damp. There was no wifi available, or internet access of any kind since my mobile data wouldn't connect in the room I was in. On first night I was disturbed for some time by a dog barking loudly right outside my room. When I brought the problem to the hotel manager's attention, his response was snarky, saying "that dog barks everyday". Likewise, the next day when I complained about there being no power in my room I received a less than cheerful attitodue form the hotel staff when I required their assistance with resolving the problem. One would think that treating your guests like they are a nuisance to avoid would considered a bad business practice. In an age where people can post their experiences online like I am here, acting that way toward your guests isn't too brilliant.

We were a little group of six persons, at the end of a three weeks-trek in Sikkim, and the agency booked for us four rooms for two nights in this hotel. Three of thems were average (dust under beds,...), but ours was the most dirty I never saw in my life: dust everywhere on the floor, many centimeters in the corners and under the beds, and under this dry dust, old wet dust on the linoleum. There were no top sheets, only blankets and bottom sheets. These sheets and pillowcases had not been changed. When we asked clean linen, we received clean pillowcases but sheets were fulll of brown spots, so we slept in our sleeping bags. The bathroom too was terrible! I prefer to say nothing about the pan... The washbasin had not been cleaned for a long time and the teethglass and the surrounding area were covered by mould. Many dead (little) insects in the bucket and on the floor. And we used our own towels... I am sorry for mistakes, but English is not my native language.

I went to Darjeeling with my family. The hotel room was per book as part of our tour package. The manager gave us a room on first floor. Window view of the room was a brick wall. It was right on top of the kitchen. We are vegetarian and the rooms filled with smell of non veg getting cooked. We requested him for a better room. He simply denied saying there are no other room available. His response was very rude. Later when he realised that we are looking for an add-on local tour. He changed our room with a condition that we buy tour from him. Issues in the room - - The Room was very small and congested. - Hanger rod in the almirah was missing. - Mirror in the Bath room was broken. - Intercom was non functional. - Even if you ring a service bell there will be no response. - There was just one CFL in the room. It was very dim lit. We did make complain regarding the hanger rod missing. He very bluntly said he can not help us. It was very clear to me that none of our complain are going to be entertained. Next day we had to travel from Darjeeling to NJP. The shared cabs (Sumo) usually carry 10 passengers which in my view was very uncomfortable. So I had book 4 seats instead of 3 also I had made a request to book seat in middle row at the time of booking the package. Our tour operator had given a written confirmation in this regard. The hotel manager said us very rudely the booking the middle row is not possible. We have the sit in the back row. He literal started shouting on us. After 5-10 mins of argument I told him I am escalating the issue to the tour operator then we suddenly changed his instance and said that we have to wait for 10-15 mins we will arrange for the cab. The worst part of the hotel wasnt its pathetic infrastructure but the rude behaviour of the manager. I have travelled a lot and by far this was my worst experience in any hotel.
