What's Good: Each and every aspect
What needs to improve : Question doe's not arise
Reason For Rating : The Hotel is excellent in all regard and particularly the homely atmosphere maintained by all staffs right from Reception Desk. The Complementary breakfast provided here is perhaps the best in Darjeeling. One thing was specifically noticed that all staffs of the Hotel maintains smiling face right from early morning till late night. I wish all the best for the Hotel and wish bright and prosperous future for all staffs.

What's Good: Room, Location
What needs to improve : Communication with receiption
Reason For Rating : Room is OK, location is OK, service is also just OK. Communication between reception and travelling agency seems to be something wrong, then the driver who drove us for sightseeing just took us for several view points instead of all of them which we told to reception. And price is high. So considering the price, location, service, and room together, the hotel is just average, and even not reach to my expectation.

We chose this hotel primarily because it had a lift (my husband has mobility issues) so did not have high expectations of it, other than the lift working. We found ourselves utterly delighted with this property. Not only did the lift work, but also our room had a glorious view of the Himalayas and of Darjeeling, the included breakfast of mostly Indian cuisine was deliciously different each day. Finally, all the staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly and helped to make our stay in Darjeeling really memorable for all the right reasons. A special mention to Reshma and Robert for their assistance and to the kitchen team for their wonderful food; the first night we ate in because we were too tired to go elsewhere; after that it was because we loved what was on offer.

Selected the hotel Based on the reviews Nice & comfortable Hotel, you start liking the place once you are in. The staff are friendly, Reshma the operation manager was very helpful and gave good recommendation for the car rental for local sight seeing and for all other requirements. The Room was spacious (had booked a family room) and the view was extraordinary good view of the valley, the city and plus nice view of the Kanchenjunga mountains on the right.. The room temperature and the cleanliness was perfect.. An unforgettable view during early morning sunrise.. Breakfast, evening snacks, and the meals were delicious, with very good selection, and efficient staff who gave us a personalized feel. Arati & Sanita from the restaurant (serving authentic Indian & also continental) were very friendly, hospitable, and took care of our every requirement. Thanks to Reshma, Arati & Sanita for making our trip enjoyable & memorable. We would love to be there during our next visit.. and recommend this hotel..

Location for any hotel in Darjeeling are almost same as hotels are mushrooming over the slope. The good part is you dont have a tower in front of your balcony in this hotel. And Kanchenjunga is visible from window. The food is average. the rooms are not too big. But staff is friendly and makes up for cramped location.

Thanks to Trip Advisor, we selected this hotel, and we're glad we did. Of potentially hundreds of places to stay in Darjeeling, most had one problem or another. Not the Summit Hermon! The hotel stands 8 storeys tall, and each one is on the ground, such is the steepness of the slope! The rooms on the west face the Himalayas, and the views are both breathtaking and extraordinary. Our room was spacious and dry (many hotels in Darjeeling suffer from dampness, but there was no evidence of this here), with a good bathroom. The kitchen serves up a delicious assortment of authentic Indian dishes. Special thanks are due to Reshma, the afternoon manager, who was both funny and capable (nothing too hard), and Robert, one of the staff, who went out of his way to help us. Finding the hotel can be difficult, particularly in the steep one-way streets, but any good taxi driver will know where it is.

We visit Darjeeling every year and stay either in Cedar Inn or Sinclair's. This time we had three senior citizens with us, one of them has serious leg trouble. We booked through Make My Trip a month ahead so everything would be smooth. The flight was fine, but trouble started the moment we went into the hotel and one flight down to the basement reception. The receptionist, Reshma, was dealing with a customer and did not spare us a welcome nod or smile. We waited for about 15 minutes and once she was done single-tasking, went up to her desk. Still no smile or hint of welcome. She frowned at her computer for a bit and said MMT had not sent any booking and she had no rooms. We called MMT and they said the booking had been sent. We asked the receptionist to speak to MMT, she did and asked us to wait 10-15 minutes and called somebody for a hurried conversation and more computer peering. More back and forth, more another 10-15 minutes, meanwhile, one of our seniors, after hours of traveling and waiting, began to get serious leg cramps. The other two seniors were also exhausted by this time. After one hour, we were shown two rooms and allowed to go on with our evening. Not one word of apology or regret from the receptionist, it felt like she was doing us a huge favor. The only reason we had picked this place was the elevator. But all that waiting made one members leg cramps so bad she was unable to go anywhere that evening. The only good thing was the team that ran the dining room good, warm food and polite servers. By the way, the entire hotel could do with rigorous cleaning and get rid of that horrible smell!
