I had a chance to visit Datia on 16th Aug 2016 for some work and had opted to stay in Hotel Great Galaxy. I am sharing my entire experience here as this needs to be highlighted to everyone. The Hotel Great Galaxy is the worst hotel I have seen till now. The Hotel staff are always drunk and are totally ill-literate. The staff totally lack basic sense of hospitality and the hotel itself is dirty with cockroaches crawling every where. The hotel owner Raja Singh Yadav seems to be some kind of a goon. I am sharing the entire incident here. Day 1: 16th Aug 2016: I checked in this hotel at around 08:30 PM. As always I booked a room through Yatra.Com. The room I booked was for 3 people specifically mentioned during the booking. Once I reached the hotel it's location already turned me down as it is inside a narrow water logged street. The so called receptionist was a boy 19 or 20 years of age. Who was totally drunk and could barely speak. When I presented the Yatra hotel voucher he was surprised and it seemed that he was totally unaware of the online booking systems. After I explained him what is yatra.com and how the booking is done nowadays then he said that he will confirm with the hotel owner and will let us know. So he allowed us to check in. After about an hour we ordered tea and some drinking water from the room service. The tea was served in broken cups and unsealed mineral water bottle. :-( Day 1: 17th Aug 2016: Some time in the afternoon another person from the reception called me up and said that the booking I made through yatra.com was in-correct and said that the I didn't pay for the hotel rent. I, again explained him the entire process of online booking and showed him the invoice of the payment I made through my credit card. Somehow he was not convinced and said will get back to me after discussing it with the hotel owner. Day 1: 18th Aug 2016: At around 07:00 pm in the evening the same guy I spoke to on day before called me ad asked to come down to the reception. He was again totally dunked with two more guys standing beside him. He said that my booking is invalid and I had to pay the hotel rent for entire period of the visit in cash. Then I again explained him that I had already payed it through my Credit card. Then the receptionist became arrogant and said that the hotel owner had ordered to vacate the hotel at once. He called the owner and asked me to have a word with him. The hotel owner Mr. Raja Singh Yadav (By profession a lawyer) was totally arrogant and was drunk as well. He said I he dosen't care of what I had paid online to yatra but he wants his 3 days rent paid all at once in cash and leave the hotel. He also threatened me to throw out of the hotel and said I would face dire consequences. It was enough so I called the yatra.com Customer care and informed about the incident and asked to black list Hotel Great Galaxy. The Yatra authorities were prompt and acted fast, I was told they would call me after 10 mins to inform me about the issue. Exactly after 10 mins I received a call from the Yatra.com and they said that the matter has been escalated and I don't have to pay anything to the hotel. Also they said that I can check out the next day as per my booking. Hotel Great Galaxy is not at all worth staying the reasons I have already mentioned above. Which are: 1) Poor Quality of rooms 2) Cleanliness is a big concern 3) Pathetic room service 4) Ill-Literate hotel staff with no sense of hospitality 5) Very bad and arrogant Hotel Owner
