Pros: - Staff was very welcoming and nice. Even they suggested some places to visit in Dehradun - Food was delivered to room and it was tasty. - Water heater and Fan were in working condition Cons: - Located in crowded place. So lot of noise in the night - Room was not spacious and it was little congested

We stayed at North star residency on 30-31st Dec 2017... We were a group of 9 and booked 4 rooms for us... Pros - 1. The hotel is in market area. It's bit noisy around in Daytime but not much after 8 pm as markets in Dehradun closes early. 2. Veg-Nonveg hotels are around 10 min walk from the hotel. 3. Hotel Reception staff and people around the hotel are very helpfull. 4. If you need Tea-Coffee, the best option is Tea stall adjacent to the Hotel Buidling. They serve the best Tea in Dehradun. 5. Rooms and toilets are clean. 6. They provide access to terrace of the Hotel on request, which can be an advantage. Cons - 1. Rooms are bit Small. So strictly no for Families if you are planning for a longer stay. 2. Most of the TV's are not working because of the signal issue. 3. Some of the bathrooms have water clogging issues. 4. Boilers are installed in every toilet for Hot water which makes you wait for ages even for warm water as we visited Dehradun in WINTERS. 5. The rooms facing Road/Market are very unsafe as most of the times we have opened the doors of the rooms through windows. Keeping the valuable in those rooms while you are away in not suggested.

the hotel is right at the bazaar and you can pretty much witness the daily lives of the local vendors, students. it's also near to the train station and vikrams, makes it easy to go around and visiting places. though they don't have a sit-in dining restaurant but do provide room service. the food is delicious in my opinion and good way to try out different local food. the room can be a bit cramp up with the furnitures but not a big issue. the owner and staff are extremely nice and helpful too.

Nice enough rooom in a hotel near Paltan Bazaar. Room service is offered and the staff are nice. I was only staying overnight to catch an early flight and on check-out is where we hit the snag. First, I was under the impression that the cab would be ready at five-thirty. It was not and on top of that, I had to write down my permanent address in the states, passport number, local number and address in India (seriously? yes, seriously!) which took up way too much time (when you have a flight, time is a little precious, eh?) I lost my patience and said I'd never had to fill this out. Turns out it's a government mandated requirement. I was told it may vary from state to state and this was my first time in Uttarakhand. On that latter bit, okay, fine. But if you know it is, then get that information up front, at check in and explain to guests what it is/why it is and not when they're leaving and you know they have a plane to catch! It's an hour to the airport and while I would have some breathing room to catch my flight, I really didn't want to have to do so under the pressure of check-in, security checks and so on. In any case, at five-forty, the call goes through and I'm told "he'll be here in five minutes"; it's India, no one is ever anywhere "in five minutes"; at six the cab shows up and yes, I made my flight, but I hope management elects to let people know about the additional information regret and do it at check-in. Also, the wi-fi barely worked. Again, it's India, I don't expect connectivity everywhere. Oh, and for the record, this is an OYO Hotel. I gave them a second chance (the first experience was in Rishikesh and perhaps not wretched, but something close to miserable; let's just say I don't like getting angry.) OYO seems to have the market for reasonably priced hotels with decent amenities, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay at one.

Visited recently and had an awesome staying experience. Location is near to railway station. The staff is very helpful and the manager is cordial. He arranged everything for my stay and visit to nearby locations. The food is also good. Rooms are clean. Highly recommend this place to everyone planning to visit the city. Thankyou North Star for making my trip memorable.
