Good stay in regionable budget
by tarunmalik81 on
When a middle class family planning for vacation and looking for Budget stay in Dharamshala then "Country Logde" is a good option. Yes, the lodge is not like 3 or 5 star hotel, its not like luxurious stay but you can feel like home. The lodge have normal rooms in different categories, one big common balcony/terrace and a big lawn area makes you relax and comfortable. The staff is very cooperative for all your requirements. May be they maintain all the thing now as my vacation was so old (year 2015). Sorry i am late for this review.

if u dont wish to waste your money dont go for the hotel ,it is the dirtiest hotel of dharamshala which offers dead mater laced water n food as can be seen from the pictures attached.also the hotel is situated in residential area so you hav restrictions on the noise levels .the hotel is run by a 90 year old crook who does not knows an iotta of hospitality just running after your hard earned money ...be aware if you dont wish to spoil your trip
Bad place and some paranorrmal stuff going on
by YogeshD424 on
We stayed there for 2 nights and boy this place is spooky as hell. First of, it is very much inside the lane. If you have a traveller or an SUV it will not enter the area. The place looks dilapidated and spooky from the outside itself. Rooms were fine, but the bathroom was terrible. Geyser not working, Mucky water or no water at all. And yes the thing that gave us the scare of our lives. This place has some paranormal stuff going on. You feel heavy and a strange presence all the time, a few from our group saw apparitions and shadowy figures moving around the corridor. The staff came in every moment knocking telling us to quiet down when we were talking and chilling before 11:30 after that they were non-existent when the actual shrieking, sinister laughters and confused shoutings started which went on till 3:30 AM. In the morning the place looked Eerie and weirdly silent. It's in the middle of a residential locality yet around the 50m radius of the cottage nobody seemed to live. At night after 7 the area goes on total shut down as if abandoned. If you hold your life dear. Don't go there. THIS IS NOT A MADE UP STORY. Be very beware of this place. The staffs are nice though but do give a miss on the food.
Budget place with average conditions; good owner and helpers.

Overall its a nice to stay but the washroom pose a problem here. The washrooms are not nicely managed and are unclean. The rooms are kept fairly well. The food is freshly home cooked and tasty. People are warm and helpful too. The prices are economical. I stayed in the dormitory which is really nice and cosy. The washroom is located separately for the dormitory and has no provision of hot water during the cold. However, the helpers were kind enough to let me use the washroom of one of the rooms with attached geysers. If you are not too fussy about the condition of the washroom then you can stay here.
Small but comfortable Place

You may find it very difficult to find this lodge (a.k.a Youth Hostel).. Just about 15 mins ride from the Bus stand is this lodge in Ram Nagar. I found the owner and service very courteous. They serve food morning and night along with tea. Rooms are small but just enough to stay for a night or two.. all essentials are in place. No complaints.
Don't care about the view you wouldn't dare look out the window, its so spooky.

Choose rooms on left for view of Himalayan peaks while the ones on right gives Dharamshala town's view.
