Dwarka, located in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat, is one of the seven most ancient cities in India. It holds a high religious significance as it was the abode of Lord Krishna. Among the Dwarka attractions, the Dwarkadhish Temple, built in the 16th century, is the most significant one. About 72 pillars support this five-storied temple. Lord Krishna, also known as Dwarkadhish, is the main deity of the temple. Idols of other deities like Lakshmiji, Radhikaji, Satyabhamaji, and Jambuvatiji are located behind the main temple of Lord Krishna.
Dwarka tourist places mainly include Hindu religious centres. Every monumental structure in this holy city reveals the legendary tales of Lord Krishna. Located about eight kilometres away from Dwarka is the Nageshwar Temple, a popular shrine that is famous for housing one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
