This place needs to improve in so many areas that it is difficult to specifically point whats wrong with it. This hotel advertises itself Lake View resort, but there is no view of the lake. In fact there is not even a trace of the lake left. I was informed that the lake had dried up years ago. The only thing left in its place is a jungle that is used by this hotel to dump its waste. Maybe it explains why the lake disappeared. So there was criminal negligence towards environment shamefully on display by a resort that is run by Tourism department, Govt of Haryana. Nestled in aravalli hills near Faridabad-Delhi border, the location of the place is such that it is not safe to leave the hotel after dark. Hotel staff warned me if I step outside hotel it will be on your own risk. At Rs 2267 per night (inc tax) for deluxe room, this place is rather overpriced. The size of the rooms is small. Although the only good thing was that the rooms were clean- this was ironically at odds with the overall experience of staying here which was lousy. The par price for these rooms should be 800-1000 rupees per night. Food was below average in quality and quantity too small for the price. Hot coffee was served cold. Missi Roti from the menu was actually tawa roti to them and looked like prepared a few days ago. There place might still be stuck in the 90s in the name of facilities. There is no Wi-Fi, there was an intercom instrument in the room, but it doesnt work (Room no 1058). The only way to place an order is by using your own mobile phone to call the hotel every time. Numerous calls made with request to fix the intercom no fell on deaf ears and the staff took its own sweet time to complete the orders. LED is in the rooms, but not of the channels are not subscribed to. LED use is not even necessary as the remote was not working and staff ignored to replace it even after numerous requests. Barring the rooms, everything else was dirty. The place immediately outside the rooms was kept dirty for some reasons with no one from the staff bothered about it. Most of the staff was atleast polite and apologetic about any deficiency in service. But not this senior staff member who was at the reception and whose job was to enter guest details in the register and hand them the keys. He was an old man who always had a frown on his face (forget the smile) and would shout at the guests. He was acting more like a hostel warden as he even forbade a guest from strolling in the hotel lawns for reasons known to only him. There was a card swiping machine available but at the time of my checkout, he insisted on cash payment as they dont accept card payment from anybody, (his words). On being paid cash, he insisted on keeping the balance, as he said, if you want your balance back you should pay exact change. How this man is keeping a job in hospitality industry is a mystery to me. He deserves compulsory retirement or, better still, dismissal. Overall, a bad experience, spoiled weekend and wasted money spent unjustly on a resort run badly by a negligent management and made worse by incompetent staff.
