Am currently here at Crescent Villa, (1265 is the street number). This place is spectacular, not only for it's location, peacefulness but the attention to detail and guest care from the lovely owners whose house this is and who live here. Is it expensive for Goa yes it is, but worth it and if like me you work hard for your money, this Hotel is a bargain.

Stayed for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year. Booked an Executive suite which was lovely and spacious. Bed sooo comfortable, peaceful situation and secure environment opposite Grills and Curries on the road, gated with security. Staff so pleasant and incredible hosts. Lovely pool for a swim to cool down at the end of the day. 15 min walk to beach. We opted for a complimentary breakfast which we enjoyed. We were made to feel really welcome, nothing was too much trouble and would not hesitate to recommend.

We have been coming to this beautiful home with a wealth of history for the past 4 years. To be in the home of such perfection and beauty we almost want to keep it secret! Beautiful, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts and peace and quiet. Our host and hostess are delightful and we look forward to our return next year.

I stayed at 1265 Crescent Villa in November. Part of a small compound the guesthouse is beautifully appointed with tasteful artwork and artefacts. Stayed in one of the ground floor rooms which was huge with a large four poster double bed. Free tea and coffee was provided in the hallway and breakfast with fresh water in the bedroom. Breakfast was taken outside with a number of choices available. The owner Mr Malhotra was warm, courteous and friendly, proving helpful advice on things to do in the area. All in all a lovely relaxing place to stay. Highly recommended.

PRE BOOKING LIE I got in touch with the owner, Malhotra, via the villa website. I was advised that only 1 room was left during my dates, an executive suite. I found another cheaper room in the same villa on airbnb so i called them to cross verify, only to be confronted by a rude woman who told me off saying it was a mistake and only the exec suite was left ('left' means all the other rooms are taken). whatsapp screenshot attached of 1.the exchange with the owner and 2. also with my co traveler where we are contemplating whether to book this place or not because of this rude woman. Anyhow, I booked the exec suite via booking.com. BIG MISTAKE. UPON ARRIVAL FIB arrived at the villa and we were greeted by malhotra, who escorted us in. The moment we entered the building, it was crawling with workers and had strong smell of paint and varnish. The place was covered with plastic the workers use during paint jobs. We were taken aback and malhotra casually mentioned that this paint work will get over in a few days!!! Why the hell weren't we informed???anyhow, we checked in since there was no other option and it was past 3 pm. The room is ok, nothing that warrants for a suite description. We asked him whether the other rooms are booked and he said that by tomorrow all the rooms will be taken. This was his SECOND LIE. We stepped out for dinner and when we got back the workers were still there and the work was going full steam. We wanted to go to the pool but there were workers all over! This is when we asked malhotra about whether this work will go on the entire night and he responded by stopping the work then, perhaps realising that we were upset. The entire night the villa was smelling of paint and varnish. BREAKFAST COVER UP Breakfast is open for a small window of 1 hour and he is very strict about it. We went down and it was set up in a corner near the pool, with all the dust from the paint and scraping work flying around. We somehow managed to finish our bf and decided to eat out the next day (thankfully we didnt stay on). After that I spoke to malhotra again and nailed his lie. He informed me that the villa was officially closed until after diwali (a week from then) and he had only released this room!!! perhaps he didn't know what he had said before and maybe his aging memory failed him, but its embarrassing to catch an older person lie. If the villa was closed for business because of renovation, then why the hell did he and the rude woman sell us this room??? And the first lie was that this suite was the only one 'left', which of course was not the case as all rooms were available. When confronted, he then tried to cover up further saying that there was one booking starting 4 days from then and he now requested the guest to book elsewhere since renovation was on. What a LIE!!! By this time we did not want to stay at this 'house of lies' and told him that we would like to check out. he agreed (had no choice but to agree). we found a lovely place closeby, cheaper, bigger, professionally run and most importantly, run by honest people. See my other review for this place. CHECKING OUT Upon checking out I asked him what do we owe him and he insisted that I pay him what i deem fit. I left it to him and he asked for 7000 cash and requested me not to leave a negative review online. All this while he was saying that he doesnt do this for money and only to pass time. hahahahahahah! You do it for money and only money. Anyway, I donated the money he asked for and checked out and we had finally put this horror behind us. We were wrong as the ghost of the stay chased us for another day! The same day I received an email from booking.com (screenshots attached) saying that they had received a call from malhotra, saying that he asked us to check out. he wanted to perhaps save the money he owes them for each booking! I told booking.com the truth and left it to them to handle this mess. THE VILLA The villa is in a residential compound called "crescent villas" which has a cluster of villas. The compound is clean and well maintained. Another thing to note is that the swimming pool is not exclusive to the villa and belongs to the entire compound and has no privacy. EXPECT NO PRIVACY AT THE POOL as it faces other residential villas as well. A PLACE BEST AVOIDED AT ANY COST. Note to the owner: HONESTY WILL TAKE YOU PLACES, WHEREAS LIES WILL ONLY COMPEL YOU TO TELL MORE LIES TO COVER UP.
