What's Good: Nothing in particular
What needs to improve : Everything
Reason For Rating : Old property not properly maintained , meant for tourists from Russia and similar countries who travel on a low budget . No lift . Buffet breakfast is pathetic . Not value for money at all for Indians

The rooms were not clean, especially the washroom area. The staff at front desk was courteous, friendly and helpful. The breakfast did not had much options, omlette was the one that we could order. Sheera was not cooked and untastefully soggy. This place is at walking distance to the beach. Though we had very interesting conversation with the owner, the elderly man, about the life and how positives come out of every thing that happens, we just have to look in the other direction sometimes. The staff here and this conversation made us think that this place is capable of way more than it is now, just need to work on different aspects of hospitaity and what actualy the guest needs and wants.

This hotel is located 10 minutes walk from a very good beach - silent, clean, empty, with good restaurants and beautiful sunsets. Away from the city centre (maybe 15 minutes walk to the nearest shop) this hotel consists of the main building and a group of bungalows, to which we've been upgraded on the check-in. Please be aware that there is no public transport passing by the hotel, probably there is on the main road. It will cost 650 INR to take taxi from the airport. And 600 INR to reach Margao train station. Rooms are not small, equipped with TV, minibar, A/C, pretty clean (comparing to other properties in India). The territory is full of different tropical plants, flowers and trees, there is a pool next to the restaurant. Staff on the reception is unpolite and indifferent to any concerns of guests, housekeeping is mainly checking minibars, not cleanliness in the rooms and asking direct and instant payments for minibar items. There is no internet in bungalow, WiFi doesn't work in the restaurant as well. The only possibility is to use it in the lobby of main building, while cockroaches are running under your feet and mosquitos are attacking you from all sides. Restaurant itself is not worth to visit, dishes are a little overpriced and don't taste well. Breakfast buffet is hardly matching its name - 1 indian dish, plus paratha, plus 1 omelette per person with toast and jam. Overall, it was our first experience in Goa, and we might come back to this beach, but not to this hotel.

It was our first time in Goa and we had chosen the Alagoa resort :) What a great choice. My husband and I travelled with our son and daughter for a week over new year. It was all brilliant. The hotel so clean, yes breakfast was limited, but plenty for us. The meals in the restaurant were amazing. Desmond runs a very tight ship and all was fabulous. Special mention also goes to Lucky the dog, a great companion :) We will be back!!

Upgraded to Eco huts, beautiful, clean and cosy. Plenty of storage. we only stayed 1 night as it was when the cyclone hit Goa, very sad to see shacks and beaches washed away, The staff were friendly the areas clean, pool small but adequate as not many people around the pool. the food was excellent as was the service. I will definately be going back for my 2 nights next year.. Nothing in walking distance apart from the beach and the Taxi driver outside the hotel is expensive but you don't have a choice if you want to go out as they dont like other taxi drivers on their patch..

The Eco Huts of AlaGoa resort are superb. Cosy yet airy with a beautiful view. We had a separate dressing space with luggage keeping cupboards and shelves. The bathroom was clean and tidy and we had it divided it in 2 - the covered usual bathroom with overhead and hand shower and the outdoor -Under the sky - open shower bathroom (borrowed from Bali) with a pretty palm tree right over head. The huts were located in a beautiful pathway that looked like a grove. The pool was small but clean. The breakfast could have been better but the open area gave a shack kind of feeling which was a great experience. The room service was prompt and the waiters were courteous. The housekeeping staff maintained a very tidy room. BetalBatim beach was 7 minute walk from our cottage and morning felt fresh than ever amidst the raw greenery. The owner was very pleasant and helpful.I recommend couples to experience luxury in the lap of nature here.
