What's Good: I m a regular visitor of the hotel, here service too good compare to other in Goa. They respect their guest.

What needs to improve : Bell seat service is too costly, it should be visible

What's Good: The location and the staff are excellent. Staff is very supportive and will do everything for guest comfort. Location is just awesome.

What needs to improve : Rooms are too outdated. They lack the modern amenities and doesnt give you the feel of 5 star resort. Dinner buffet was also average. and because of the different companies conferences going on. Their was alot of fuss and noise by the Company's Guest. We coudnt even enjoy the Pool because of all them. It wasn't very comforting for my fiance because of all the men around us shouting and behaving erratically. Wouldn't recommend this resort to a couple who want to enjoy quit time. For families it is somewhat OK. Costlier than it should be.

  • This wins the prize for the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!

    by Billy Bird on

I have been travelling for many years and wouldnt call myself a fussy traveller at all. Ive stayed in a range of different accommodation cheap hostels, nasty b&bs, regular run of the mill hotels, even really lovely hotels. As long as its clean and comfortable, thats the main thing. The Bogmallo Beach Resort hotel is easily the worst place I have ever stayed in. It has absolutely no redeeming features, its a hole. Dont believe the photos on the website they are incredibly forgiving (either that or they have two really nice rooms that they use for website photos/royal visits). On arrival at the Bogmallo, nobody came to help out with luggage which I think is pretty unusual in India (everyone is normally so helpful and lovely), in fact, it was as if we were a bit of a burden even turning up. First impression of the actual building: very tired, possibly built in the 60s/70s and never updated. The lifts two different lifts, both rickety, so they did have something in common. I only used the lifts once (on arrival) because I quickly found out that the hotel has frequent (daily) power cuts (this might just be normal for the area) and I certainly didnt want to get trapped in one of those! So I used the stairs not the normal stairs you get in hotels, more like service stairs, you even walk through a storage area. Luckily I was on the first floor. The room. Yes, well as long as its clean and comfortable? Nah think again. Filthy. Mould everywhere. Dirt everywhere. There was a kind of balcony which was covered in bird droppings and cigarette butts. If you could look past that, the view was nice, through a couple of palm trees you could see the beach. This is the only redeeming feature of the room. The door into the room looks like it has been broken into at some point (also, I should point out the dodgy locks on the rooms luckily there was a safe). Most of the furniture had huge chips taken out of it and there were chipped floor tiles, the bath was peeling and there are ceiling holes. After the horror of investigating my cell for the next few nights I needed to sit down on the bed. I dont quite know what to compare the hardness of the bed to have you ever slept on one of those really thin inflatable camping mats? The type youd pack to keep your bag light on a hike? One of those on the ground hardness. I had back ache for the entire time we were there. Talking of beds, lets get on to the linen. There were multiple occasions where I found myself saying What is THIS?! seriously, what is it?!!?. Strange brown stains on the towels (tea stain type stains, not what you initially thought), large rust stains on the towels too, just generally dirty to a point that they needed throwing away. Bed linen again, stained, weird little black things a bit like tar, and the piece de resistance, yeah Im not totally sure what it was but lets just say it looked like someone had dropped a couple of blobs of yoghurt onto part of a sheet the bit that would have been closest to my face when I got into bed. Why didnt you ask to move rooms you might be wondering? A colleague asked to change their room and they were told no - no rooms. There is a fridge in the room. I was too scared to open it. They also have tea making facilities, but you only get your first teabag for free! I didnt have a tea in my room, I was too scared to see what was in the kettle. The rest of the hotel well, the beer was cheap which was a good thing (needed a lot of that). The food I really enjoy Indian food, it would be my food of choice if someone said what do you fancy for tea, however the same three curries (and a token overcooked pasta dish) for lunch and dinner every day was too much! Im sure that they didnt, but it was almost as if they make a huge cauldron of each one at the start of the week and keep wheeling it out for every meal until its gone (food was included in the room rate, but we ended up going out to the few nearby restaurants which were in fact wonderful). They do have two restaurants, one is marginally better than the other hotel layout suggests that they must use the same kitchen, so Im not sure how that works. The service in both restaurants is appalling. Maybe this is a good point to mention that we paid (ready for this?) $200 per night per room for this displeasure. Bogmallo Beach Resort advertises itself as one of the very first Luxury five star Resorts in Goa I find it hard to believe that it ever was, but even so it certainly is not now. Its a 2 star, 3 star if you want to be generous. It doesnt need a refurb, it needs knocking down and rebuilding.

Great location, hotel is windy and on water this was the only hotel with great location. Our stay was good. Rooms need renovation however there is a loud construction work going around which was not there during our last visit . As usual some positive things first - excellent welcome or much to too much attention at the reception. Excellent pure fresh food and had food prepared in front of you one of the best . Rooms need some refreshment and cleanliness need to be tuned the lobby and long street area had a toilet and as far as my husband's feed back the toilet needs which is facing the beach some fresh fragrance and attention .We want to thank Vasant for his gesture ,jasvinder ,Neivel in the restaurant Madhuria and others for giving us a special stay Thank you

  • Nice comfortable stay

Comfortable place with all basic facilities. Located bang on the beach. Delicious food, Good swimming pool, Proximity to airport and activities at the resort make it one of the preferred options for stay at Goa.

  • A good 3 star hotel

    by arunkiranpatro on

This hotel is good for a temporary stay to catch a flight or train. Or it can be stayed when you reach goa little late in the day. The location is superb and view is also superb. The food and its taste is enjoyable. Unlike other beaches in north goa , the beach is calm n non-eventful. I really enjoyed a day stay in this hotel.
