    Poor!

by Mr. Jit Mitra on 24-05-2016

The attitude from the reception is very good. But the facilities and the place is not that good. Regarding facilities : Service of Electricity in the locality is very poor. At least the hotel is supposed to have their own service in this situation and they have it in a very inadequate way. The AC in the room was not working properly and since there is no fan it was very suffocating inside. There were 5 times power-cut during the dinner only. Moreover in the buffet dinner what they had served is not as good. The goan soup was more a vegetable stew, the fish was good, chicken is more spicy and obviously not for everyone to taste, the rice even was under-cooked. There was nothing much for Vegetarians-Roti, Tarka, Achari Bengan and one daal.Even I did not like the deserts they served. Due to the power-cut issue the mango Ice cream turned into a mango milk-shake. The Custer was very bad. The chocolate coconut ball was the kohinoor of the whole dinner. Regarding Locality : The beach is not as good or gorgeous as it is in a reputed beach. Its not private and very unsafe during night. The nearest ATM is 1km up in the hill, which remains mainly in inactive stage(as per the local vendors) and the next is 3km in Dabolim City. Carry money with you. Though nothing much to roam about. The only best part of the hotel is the swimming pool.

I stayed in the Cottage part of the hotel and felt that the management is completely neglecting this part of the hotel complex. My personal experience is given below: 1) Toilet was leaking and water was flowing on to the floor. It was repaired the next day. 2) Water supply gets stopped repeatedly and resumes only when we tell the reception counter. This happened about 5 times during my stay 3) Electricity went off at least twice during our stay.

While the resort is beautifully located, the staff are not at trained towards a customer service orientation. As it happened, the days that I was at Bogmalo, a large group of people had blocked multiple rooms at the resort for a marriage function. So, obviously from a business point of view, the group represented a much bigger opportunity to the resort than someone who was "just" paying for one room. So, right from the kind of room that I got to the attitude of the staff towards me was very, very ordinary. Not a pleasant experience at all and am feeling worse for the fact that I had planned this as a surprise get-away for my wife. Feeling quite foolish.

  • Attended well commendable food

by gautamroxk on June 27, 2017

Recent stay at the bogmalo beach to this old glory has changed my previous thoughts and forced me to write this review usually I am not a writer but thought to give a mention and comment to cheer this place. During this last 2 days we stayed at this place though few problems we need not mentioned but one thing which made us think to return back to this place again next is a change in taste as well as presentation of food . Service has improved in restaurant . We loved the gesture of the head chef who attended us well vasanth attended us well and presented his attention equally Thank you to the hotel front office team who did remarkably well Few issues the management really need to take care which was assured they will take care further

  • Horrible place to stay

    by Nikhil K on June 27, 2017

To begin with, its a beach property which is the only advantage of this place as you have nothing else around. It is a old property and not very well managed, staff is warm in talking but fascilities are horrible. Few instances which pissed us off are : 1. Deserts had insects around it. 2. Room service was pathetic as we had to call atleast twice to get the order delivered. 3. Goa is known for cheap liqour and when I purchased some to carry back home, guard stopped me you cant take it inside, i said it is not to be consumed here, but lot of questions were asked but I managed to get it in. 4. Dinner menu lacks variety. 5. I had a morning flight ane requested for packed breakfast as that was in package but never got it. It is supppsedly a 5* beach resort bt has one elevator with max 6 people at a time, so u waot for 15 mins to grab a place in there which is annoying I would never recommend anyone to stay here unless they work on their management.

  • Amazing view ..beach hotel...

    by Maulik1028 on June 26, 2017

it was awesome experience. we stayed for three nights on 14th to 16th March,2017. we took chalets.. we are four people means two couples. chalets was interconnected room. and it has awesome view of ocean. nice place, good staff.

  • Excellent sea view, good place to hangout with family

    by Kiran R on June 26, 2017

We had visited Bogmalo beach resort in June'17 and stayed for 3 nights. Firstly, property is very near to airport just 10 mins. We were welcomed with drink upon arrival and found staff to be humble. We had booked superior sea view room and view from room was breathtaking. Beach sound and balcony seating made even more interesting. We being vegetarians, entered restaurant to see decent food on day one. Could see lot of improvement on day 2 and even better on day 3. We learnt tat, newly appointed international chef vasant is taking charge of food and is responsible for uptrend of taste and variety tat was offered especially with salads. It was yummy. We want to see more spread for vegetarians in breakfast. We wish him all the very best. Overall we had an excellent stay.

  • Good experience, if not pleasant

by kooldhanu on June 20, 2017

The room on the 6th floor had an unmatched view of the sea. though we had many issues with the cleanliness of the room, paint coming out, but we stuck to that room due to the view. We were offered other rooms on 1st floor but some had other issues and restricted view of the sea. The food was above average. special mention for Neville, in the restaurant who was exceptional and providing all the help for us considering we had a small 11 month old baby. Tips: Veg has good options, Avoid any dish on red meat, cheese omelettes are too good(breakfast), reception guys and duty manager are too good to speak to, kids pool has issues(only if adults accompanying kids in it, broken tiles hurt), Any roti you take has maida in it along with Wheat, take any room above 3rd floor , preferably with balcony.

  • choose chalets.. have great experience.
