My mom and I spent 3 days in this nice, neat property on our vacation in Oct 2019. It is an ideal trifecta of a quiet village with lush greenery, a charming vintage house and a warm, gracious host. Village Batim is between South & North Goa and hence an ideal location to start your day either direction. I travel extensively on business and was tired of hotel rooms in chain hotels and the predictable hotel routine. I am very glad we stayed here. The owner, David Menezes, is a wonderful host and is genuinely interested that you have a good time in Goa. He knows well the regular tourist spots and as well as the hidden gems. On the first day, he enquired about our plan and suggested some attractions to be added & changes to the itinerary. I am glad I listened as it made our visit even more memorable. The hotel staff is courteous, quick to take care of your needs and is a great team. We had breakfast all days and it was delicious. David also helped with local taxi and both drivers (Vinayak & Paulo) were steady hands at the wheel. The icing on the cake was our ride with David in the mini Cooper that he lovingly takes care. We are very happy with the experience and would definitely come back again.

I opted to stay for only 1 night in this heritage stay but I felt like staying more. The essence of bygone era is preserved well in the antique furnitures, in low lighting condition in old Goan belljar lampshades.Wooden flooring adds to the aroma of 300 yrs old Portuguese itinerants in India. Paintings and Books adore every corners of the house.Royalness was portrayed in the classic chandeliers, paintings, crockeries and Morris 1st generation car belonging to Menezes. Clearness is the best thing observed. All white nd regularly maintained, dust free. I was looking for a Portuguese Heritage stay in a village which facilitated to the fullest. Roaming to nearby Churches, Betim lake, Local Goan bakery on cycle was a bliss as it added monsoon rain. The breakfast with the host was royal aswell. David, Raphael and Madam helped us with the coziness of a house. Tradition Food nd drink at 304 resturant was good enough to get us back. Thanks to the boys at work in-house.Overall I am pleased with this place and people.

"So How old is this House?" - I asked "It's Older than Taj Mahal!!" - The person who was giving a tour of the House to us told Location: It is located in a beautiful village in Velha Goa, dotted and lined with Coconut tress. Away from the hustle and Bustle of Panaji, but still a great spot to stay to Tour the Beautiful Goan Cathedrals and Panaji. Anyone, who is looking for some "Off the Beaten Track" Experience in Goa must stay here. 5/5 for Location Rooms: The House is absolutely Mind Blowing, colored in Bright Yellow with red tiles. There is a small courtyard, where the 1st Generation Maurice is parked. The main House have many antique pieces and all are extremely beautiful. The staris decorated with Azulejos are something to cherish. We stayed in 2 types of Rooms 1) Balcony Heritage Suite, which was big enough. there was a sitting area and then the main Bed Room. It overlooks the beautiful Countryside from the balcony and 2) one Room at the Ground Floor, just beside the courtyard. This also has a Room 1st with Marble made round table with chairs and then the Bedroom. The bathrooms were equipped with modern Amenities. Some of the Interesting Features of the Rooms: 1) The window shutters are made of shells, which is now not in make in current India, so it's one of a kind. 2) The 4 Posters Bed. It's quite High, but gives a fell of Royalty. Some negligible concern being size of the rooms are somewhat small and not adequately lit. But it's easily ignorable. Rooms: 4.5/5 Food: House no 304 serves as the Restaurant for Casa Menzes and it we had some of the most tasty food there. It's a hidden gem. It gives you an old world chard and the food is particularly great. Try any of their food and all exceeds our expectations. Food: 5/5 Service: Good No Complains. particularly the last day ride in the 1st generation Maurice is a cherry at the top. Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: Spectacular and top notch Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: It delivers what it demands. The food adds more to the value. Value: 5/5 Total Score: 5/5 P.S: If you are not able to stay here also, just spend time in Room 304 and have your lunch or dinner. I bet you will never be disappointed.

Stayed here post Christmas. My husband and I smiled the moment we set our eyes on this beautiful home. It reminded me of our Goa homes. David and Nicole are perfect warm hosts..no hassles. They have highly capable and dedicated staff. The room (Balcony Heritage) is spacious and is well supplied with all necessities. It is so relaxing to just sit on those chairs outside, hear the chirping of birds, feel the cool breeze and leave all your worries (and work) behind. You will just feel like staying here forever! Their restaurant is just across the road and has delicious goan food! The bebinca is not to be missed. No compare! The Pillar monastery is in proximity and is worth a visit. We look forward staying here again.

Our stay at Casa Menezes was one of our favorites on our 15 day travels across south India. David our host, his lovely wife, and mother were so knowledgeable about Goa. And why shouldnt they be?! Their family home dates back over 300 years! Theyve turned the former carriage house/stables into a lovely restaurant and pool area. But my favorite spot was sitting in their tropical courtyard garden. David is a great tour guide and can arrange all sorts of wonderful day trips. The familys hospitality is unparalleled.
