we were awestruck by the beauty of the villa.initially we had planned to stay just for a day but stayed for one more day. the rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully done. loved the pool. property is very well maintained. lip smacking authentic food is served. since i had my one year old daughter, Susan paid special attention to her food requirements. Jay and Susan are amazing hosts. Our daughter loved to play with their dog Sophie. perfect place for a laid back holiday. They amazing support staff too. Having close proximity to Dr.Salim ali Bird Sanctury you can spot lot of birds on the island and in the premises too.

Stayed with Susan and Jay at the Island house for a whole week at the end of December and it was the most blissful end to the year that was. The lovely rooms, the graceful house, the quiet location, the pool, reading under the ethereal tent on the terrace, the food (oh the sumptuous glorious food), the charming attentive hosts, their wonderful 5 year old son, their languorous rescue Sophie ... everything was magic. We did not want to leave. We made dreamy plans to cycle around the island on the Island House bicycles, but never managed to leave the property really. Maybe the next time we are in Island House, which will hopefully be soon, we will take the bikes out. Can't wait to get back. Much love to you Island House.

We stayed for 1 week in October. What can I say but fabulous. Jay and Susan were fantastic hosts. The food was delicious and the customer service second to none. Divar Island is quiet, beautiful and very peaceful. A real slice of true Goan life. Thank you to all.

This review is long overdue as we stayed at Divar back in 2015 monsoon. We were guests at Divar and Jan and Aarti were amazing hosts. Highly recommended for the stay and the island itself is very beautiful. We loved the dimension it added to our monsoon experience.

Possibly the first thing to say is that the main building is quite stunning and is a lovingly restored old Portuguese-style villa. The bathrooms are clean and modern but decorated in a style that is in keeping with the style of the house. The rooms are airy and pleasant and the four poster bed that we had in our room was very comfortable. Some might find the solar hot water a bit slow to heat up but I found that I got out of the shower feeling warm and, in this climate, a little bit of cold is not a problem. The water pressure is just fine. Jan (the host, pronounced "yan") arranged for a taxi from the airport, which made our trip there very easy. Luku (possibly not spelled correctly) organises everything once you arrive and loves to joke and entertain you with amazing card tricks. We originally intended to stay for 5 nights but stayed for 8 nights in the end. For some of the days, we just sat by the pool, while others, we rented a moped and toured the backroads of southern Goa. The swimming pool is very pleasant both to swim in and sit beside during the heat of the day. There are easy walks around the island although it can get quite hot. A regular free ferry enables you to cross over to the mainland. There are two ferries, one of which goes to old Goa, which has a number of interesting buildings and archaeological sites. To the south-west, there's Panjim. Be ready for a rather daunting time going around the roundabout on entry to the town, if you visit on a two wheeler. We took up offers of dinner and lunch at the homestay for much of the time we stayed. The food was really excellent. The chef supports a wide variety of cooking styles but we always asked for Indian dishes and were never disappointed. The family are very open and by the end of the stay we felt like they were old friends. We noticed that many of the other guests were repeat visitors (and perhaps really have become old friends!). Thanks so much to Jan and family for a lovely stay.
