Its tough to resist a beach vacation in the location that is known as'Tourist Paradise of India', Goa. Occasionally just lazing on the beach mightgive a glimpse of the interesting city. Bed down in one of the memorable private room in Goyam Goyam Bungalows for an insight of Goan life.
The serviceapartment has two massive rooms to offer with the local styling. Some famousbeaches like Patnem, Canacona are just a stroll away from the bungalow. The services offer is dry cleaningfacility, front desk service and emergency backup generator.

Stayed for a long weekend and really enjoyed it. We paid for a beachfront bungalow, which I think is worth the extra rupees - it's wonderful to be able to sit on your balcony in the shade and look out at the ocean when you want a break from the sun. Yes, the place is expensive and aimed at foreigners, but we got all the basics we needed and the service was good. And the restaurant was really as great as the other commenters have said! Patnem is a little sleepy at night, but that was fine for us. Really, the beach had everything we wanted (there are shops nearby if you've forgotten any essentials; we didn't leave the beach for three days!) and we will definitely return. The beach itself was great, not too crowded when we were there, with a number of bars/restaurants to choose from, a relatively quiet surf and no garbage/debris that we noticed. It's a 1080 rs prepaid taxi from the airport.

We had an excellent holiday in the Goyam and Goyam beach hut. The room was small, but very cozy and clean, clean bathroom and we had a small balcony with a jhula(chair swing) and a divan (small bed). We stayed at the 1st floor room facing the beach, the views were awesome :) Staff never bothered us and were very helpful when we wanted something. Since the time we went was not a peak season, we also bargained and got a very good price. The hotel restaurant never had any happy hours for drinks so we usually went to the other beach huts to eat. Out of all the beach huts we went to and ate we found the staffs of goyam very professional. Patnem beach is not very crowded like Palolem and can get very deserted after dark. We felt very safe at goyam. Also, go to patnem if you want to relax and just not do anything - it's not a very happening beach - no pubs/discos. I strongly recommend Goyam and Goyam.

We were two friends stayed in one of the bungalow at GOYAM bungalow,It was out of this world, yes though room were little small but absolutely clean, and are cleaned daily by the efficient staff.Rooms are the cleanest you can find any where else on the beach. very safe for the young girls like us,security men are there watching the place at night. even rest of the staff are very observent and helpfull.(One of our friend was robbed off her belonging while she was staying in one of the cheap huts made of bamboo). Excellent food, specially seafood, salads and the Indian wines. They also have excellent Restaurant at the palolem beach, its DROPADI RESTAURANT. GOOD AND COMFORTABLE STAY DOSENT COME CHEAP. We stayed at Goyam bungalows for 2 nights in on 20th and 21st January. We were really pleased when we got there - we had the room at the very front which looks straight out onto the beach. The room was quite small as the bed took up so much space, but it was clean and fine for a couple of nights. Only negative is that breakfast wasn't included, which would have been nice for the amount being paid (about 40 a night). We had breakfast at Home next door which was lovely, and had lunch twice at Goyam. Would particularly recommend the fish there. Patnem beach was stunning, we were happy that we chose to stay there as it was very quiet and perfect for a romantic break. In the evenings, we got a tuk tuk to Palolem beach (about 1 each way) as there are more restaurants and bars there than on Patnem beach. We ate at Dropadi which was good for curries, and Banyan Tree which did great Thai food and was incredibly cheap, even by Goan standards! I would definitely recommend Goyam - although the price is on the high side, it is worth it for the comfort and the location.

Agree with all the glowing comments - yes, the price seems a bit steep for what you're getting, (no air con, room a bit cramped because the bed is so huge), but it seems to be about right compared with other similar places at Patnem, and it's possible to negotiate a lower rate for a longer stay. It just seems that Goa generally is expensive now (by Indian standards), and Patnem particularly so because it's in demand (hardly surprising when you see how nice it is compared with neighbouring Palolem) and decent accommodation is in limited supply. There are cheaper places in Patnem but you need to bear in mind that bamboo walls are even less soundproof than wooden ones, that the centre of the beach is busier and noiser (several restaurant+huts places right next door to each other with no gaps between), and not all have private bathrooms. Goyam is towards the north end of the beach where places are more spread out - only a few minutes walk but just far enough away to feel more tranquil. You do get some dog and early morning crow noise, but that's a general India problem which is easily dealt with by earplugs if it bothers you - but then you won't be able to hear the sea...
