We had booked our place of stay at some other hotel in vagator, but unfortunately when we reached there the owner had overbooked. After searching a bit we landed at goan darbar and were very impressed with the place.. The rooms are decent for a budget hotel.. But has an amazing location (5 mins ride from vagator beach), was peaceful nd have very friendly owners.. All in all i would definitely stay in goan darbar for our nxt goa trip as well

If you would like to meet good people, have some new friends and your a backpacker, Darbar is best choice. Cheap accomodation, rooms with bathroom (shower have to low pressure for me), very quite fan so you can sleep ;) excelent localization, close to most important places around vagator, chapora, anjuna. I recommend!

Was shocked to see this place listed honestly; I stayed here in 2003 for 2 months and paid Rs. 6000 for the entire time. Rooms are built in a long line with a small corridor in front which acts as the sit out for the rooms, the place one dusts their feet when coming from the beach. When i stayed here 10 years ago I was a student and looking to save money. I bought my own sheets and pillow from the market, bed and mattress were ok; bathroom is basic but tiled and has a western loo. The shower pressure was non existent, like standing under a tap so you will have to do with buckets and mugs of water. That said I was out most of the time and in hindsight I was able to stay at Goa for very little money; located well enough near Chapora and Vagator Beach; Buy your own sheets and pillow and carry a sleeping bag; also buy a mop, jhadu and fluid as you will need to clean your room; then it is quite nice, also while there i met a lot of very cool people also like me travelling long and conserving money. It was owned by a local politician of Chapora village who lives in the first two rooms of the Hotel, he was quite a nice guy. That said the fact that it is listed here means that probably it has undergone renovation and is now a different property, so check it out if you found what I wrote appealing.
