We arrived at Magnum Resort after our long flight from Manchester. On arrival things from reception didn't seem too bad. We were shown to our room which was on the fifth floor, no lifts and temperature around 28 degrees. Oxygen was required when we reached the top, I might add that I am on holiday to celebrate my 60th birthday, so no spring chicken. Just outside the room was a staircase that led to the roof area, this was blocked by at least 50 or so old used and dirty bed pillows, looked as though they had been dumped there for storage, strange. Also on the bottom step was a tea tray. This had probably been put there by the previous occupants of our room, I will get back to that. The room was large, and so was the bed and looked clean. We had good air conditioning and also a wall mounted fan, a t.v. but no balcony which I am sure I had asked for when I booked. All looked well until we inspected the bathroom. Again this was quite large, a very dated avocado bathroom suite, this is quite an old hotel. The shower curtain was disgustingly black all around the bottom and up all of the seams, now come on, shower curtains are not an expensive item to replace occasionally. The grouting around the bath and between the tiles was black and in disrepair which aesthetically did not look too inviting. For the first two days we did not have any hot water as no one had told us that we had to turn on what I would presume was a type of water heater. This was our first trip to Goa and speaking with other people this is the norm. I have to say once we did know how to do this we had piping hot water for the rest of our stay. We had been there for four days and no sign of the room being cleaned, bed being changed or clean towels. We spoke with reception who sent clean towels up immediately. The room still wasn't cleaned though. It was day 10 of our stay that eventually we 'lost the plot' and demanded that our room be cleaned and might I add at this point we also asked for the tea tray that had now sat outside our room for 10 days also be removed. A young boy was sent up and the room finally cleaned. Our bed had only been changed once in our entire 14 days even though we had asked on several occasions for this to be done. We had booked half board, breakfast comprised of 'how do you like your eggs' toast and jam, there was a variety of Indian breakfast items but not to our taste. Cups for tea were the size of egg cups and were cracked and some looked as though they had been glued together. The breakfast area was not kept tidy and looked a mess. This is a shame as the lads that worked there tried their best, they did not seem to have any leadership or management guiding them. The Evening meal was supposed to be at 8:30 p.m. when we arrived for our meal at this time it was never ready, we would go out and have a drink and sometimes returned around 9:30 p.m. to find that there was nothing left and the restaurant area had been cleared away. Goa is an amazing place and we would definitely return, just not to this hotel. It is such a shame as speaking to people who had used this hotel around ten years ago said that it was an amazing place and I could certainly see the potential for a great hotel, the position that it is in would make it a prime location. Little things, like jet washing around the pool, re-grouting around bathrooms, new cups and more organisation in the restaurant, a general tidy up, replace broken slabs and as we say cleanliness is next to godliness.

Had booked this property for two weeks during Christmas and NY online from the UK in advance as knew we would struggle to find accommodation in Goa during his time. Had attempted to contact the hotel via email to confirm the booking after some suggestions online but no return email from the hotel was received. We had however arrived in Goa in November as staying for a number of weeks until January so to put our minds at rest we went into the property to once again try and confirm the booking... On arrival we got reception to check the booking was received and the guy who was working advised it wasn't in the book but would confirm with the office who was not available currently and would call or email to to confirm. After 3 days later with still no contact we once again went into the hotel to check if we had a room or not to once again receive no help at all from a different guy on reception but to be told they would check and for us to call back in a few days! We disputed this comment as we had already been brushed off like this already but found we were not getting anywhere so decided to just walk away and resolve this via the booking agent online via email. Anyway in the end we resolved this thanks to the agent online who advised the hotel has issues with its office and the booking was lost due to internal issues at the hotel. We managed to secure another property thanks to the agent that we believe to be an upgrade to the original booking after seeing the run down property we had booked and the lack of customer care.

i stayed there with my wife hotel from 29th sep 2017-01st oct 2017.The hotel does not have lift ,this is a very cheap hotel . pros:Good location cons: 1.the phone at the room was not working so i told at the reception but till the last day ,it is not fixed. 2.There is no lift . 3.the complimentary breakfast is unlimited but you will not get .for that you need to wait and at the end you will finish your breakfast without sufficient food. 4.For water you need to pay extra. 5. Commod cover is not there 6.the light in the room was not switched off for 2 nights as the switch was not working. 7.when we checked in at the time we found 2 customers paid for the dirty bedsheet . So before staying ,better take care of these things.

To much late pickup by Driver. we had to wait for at least 1-2 hours FOOD is EXTREME WORST by hotel No Coordination between sales and Reservation Desk. They didn't even know that we booked the package and no prior preparations !!! NO CLEANING AT ALL IN ROOMS Even though we worked 1 month before, we got the room at very worst location !!! There are so many other resorts with BEST rates then this.
