What's Good: The Resort is too good and Have full fun. Locate on main place from where you reach main beaches in 15 to 20 mins... Over all its my BEST TIME...

This resort is in a great location in Calangute, away from the hustle and bustle but next to the beautiful church. Its close to the bus stop which makes it convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful but the rooms are dated. The daily rate is too high and not competitive. You have better choices closer to the action.

Due to some urgent business had to stay 2 days in Goa, so decided to go for a cheap place and booked in Rosa Maria after seeing reasonable rates and great pictures probably taken by a skillful camera man who literally turned this most rustic places to resemble luxury and elegance. My first impression as I stepped in Rosa Maria; it reminded me of a Ghost town with its old Archaic designs, probably from the British era. The outdoors gives you a somber feeling with debilitating structures, paints peeling off at places and gardens untrimmed and wild. It can be used as the perfect set up for a funeral scene in a film or a horror movie. It is actually an old apartment complex being used as a resort. As I entered my room built with old mosaic tiles from the 1980s, the scene gets more depressing. You are greeted by a friendly old dusty sofa in the corner of the dimly lit living room. You feel yourself floating back in a time machine. I avoided sitting on the sofa fearing dust allergy, and went to check the bedroom. The bed was wrapped in an old stained bedsheet. I immediately called the room boy and asked him to change it, the helpful chap gladly went and brought another bedsheet, but upon close examination, had to ask for a change again, and finally had to be content with the last one provided as the room boy started cribbing of having to climb the stairs up and down. Had a disturbed sleep that night with the AC blaring away in the darkness. Next door to my no suprise, learnt the water heater was not working. So, again called for help to my helpful chap, who brought a bucket of hot water to make do. After these experiences, I avoided the stagnant swimming pool fearing company from E-Coli, V. mimicus, Vibrio cholerae cells and the likes. Finally when I checked out, it was with a great relief and a strong determination bye bye Rosa.. for never again.

We booked the apartment from Make my trip in April 2017 and the Host was Anjana. When we reached Goa, we got to know that the initial address and pictures of the apartment (Kamat apartment) provided in the website is already occupied by some body and we need to stay in another apartment (Maria Rosa apartment) We moved there and faced lots of problems 1. Swimming pool was well maintained but you can only use the pool if you will buy the costumes from their shop. Pets were enetring the pool and the Watchman was least bother about it. 2. When we checked in, the cleaning was in progress so we had to wait for an hour though we reached at 3pm and check in time is 12 pm 3. 1st day the gas cylinder was empty so we used Induction cooktop which was repaired many times and when i switched it on there was huge spark and electricity of the apartment was gone. It was late night and nobody recieved our phone calls and we had to manage the whole night with this. The owner was aware of the empty gas cylinder but didn't take action before we visit there and gave us a damaged induction top. 4. 2 Nd day there was no water. When we complained the owner she sent somebody who gave us 2 buckets of dirty water and told us to manage with that. When we complained her about all these she argued with us that we are complaining too much and she had never get such complains before. We had a 1 yr old baby with us and had to manage with all these problems. She spoiled our holiday.

Not sure if there are any decent rooms there but the one we were shown was awful. Went there 10 years ago and it was passable then. The whole place looked as if it had died. The photos above looked nothing like it. Nearly all the plants looked brown and dead. Bird droppings on steps to room (they looked like they had been there for some time) and litter on stairs. The room: mattress stained, grouting with big gaps in round sink, curtains way past there worst, cupboard full of paint and tools. All paint work looked stained and not clean. Balcony was crumbling. Never seen a room to this standard (very low).
