    Enjoyed my first stay so booked with family and friends for weekend. We were 6 families together, but couldn't get rooms together. The hotel probably was hosting a wedding so was a bit noisy compared to last visit. Food has improved to what I had last time. Rooms are spacious and view is great. Apart from the noisy crowd, thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Will come back for sure probably to celebrate New year.

  • Disappointing

    We came to the Lalit with high expectations of a quiet 4 or 5 star hotel by the Arabian Ocean having stayed in three hotels in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur and been happy with all three. The Lalit was obviously once a grand hotel. However, it is now showing its age. The guests were predominantly Russian and we seemed to be the only English guests so we felt rather isolated. There were also two large wedding parties while we were there which provided lots of local spectacle but which disrupted the peace and tranquillity we were looking for. The hotel has four restaurants but much of the time only two were open because the others were being redecorated or used for private functions. The hotel seems poorly organised and fails to make the most of its own facilities. One evening we ate in the beach bar and restaurant. We were the only guests and were outnumbered 7 to 1 by the staff. Another evening we finally got to eat in the Siroco restaurant and once again we were the only guests. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food after the poor quality of the Cancona buffet which drove us out to seek local restaurants. We can recommend the Drapadi in nearby Palolem which is superb and considerably cheaper than the hotel restaurants! The hotel also adds a 10% service charge to all bills which doesn't go to the staff. Under Indian law service charges are optional but we only found out after 4 days. The Lalit could be so much better with a little effort.

    Stayed at Lalit on official work. It's a huge property. Ideal place to host big conferences. It's an exotic property for families and couples as well. It is close to 1 hour 30 mins drive from goa airport. Massive swimming pool, Private beach ( though its quite a walk from rooms/reception). Many bollywood movies is shot at this property. My recommendation. go for it

    The Lalit Goa is in general a very nice complex with a wonderful garden and a fantastic location. However it should have been renovated 10 year ago already. The rooms are still very nice, mattresses in the bedroom should be renewed to a standard which does not cause back ache. But the housekeeping Team of Aparna is fantastic. They clean the rooms perfectly and try to make everything possible. Aparna even put a second topper on the bed to make the bed softer, which helps a lot. So always request this if you feel uncomfortable with beds like stone. This really helps. The reception staff can be improved, only 2 people are competent, the rest is useless, always telling, they do not know and not reacting. Especially the females are like this. Concerning the service in the Restaurant, I was extremely disappointed in the beginning. There is no athmophere no knowledege and no service thinking at all. The waiters are not skilled and many unfriendly. After complaining, we got a special treatment which was very nice for us but in general the problem did not change. The way we were treated should be for all guest standard. The last morning the experience we made at breakfast was horrible. If you tell that you do not want to have your breakfast in a deep frozen Restaurant and you get as an answer that there is only another very heavy cooled down Restaurant and the terrace is not allowed to use, you do not like this. The lady at the service desk was the most stupid person I have ever seen and she is not able to do a good job. A person not needed at all. Because the Restaurant Manager who took care of us personally was not there, the good impression was spoiled again. This shows, that there majority of staff is not skilled at all but Lalit wants to be 5 Star and charges european rates. Concering the golf court, this is the very best about this Hotel. Perfect and friendly staff. Especially Santa, a fantastic Caddy and very pleasant guy. We can recommend this highly. Wished the rest would be as good. The beach is very clean and nice, more Umbrella and shade needed but very nice. The beach shack is nice, part of the waiters very good but of course here the same. Lack of skills and far away from 5 Star. But over all, we had a good time and enjoyed. Just be aware of this, complain straight away and you will have a good time.

    The resort is located to the South of Goa airport and took us one and a half hours journey on the winding and hilly road to reach. The resort is laid out over a large nicely landscaped area and which also includes a nine hole golf course. The large lobby is well staffed, clean and very welcoming. Our rooms were located on the first floor in an interconnected wing about 5 minutes walk from the lobby. Elevators are available with disable access and luggage. The walkway to the rooms reveal the state of building fabric. The paintwork was in sorry state and in need of urgent renewal. The rooms with modern decor were large and adequately furnished. The bathrooms too were large, welcoming with hot showers and clean fluffy towels. The restaurants and other dinning facility by the pool were nice and clean with a good choice of food. The house keeping and restaurant staff were friendly and very obliging. The bar located away from dinning areas was quiet but adequate. There was not much choice of beers but was more than made up by extended happy hour. The swimming pool was clean and well used. The beach located 15 minutes walk from the rooms was sandy and clean. Golf cart/ buggy were always available from lobby for ride to the beach. Wi-fi was available over the whole resort but the speeds varied with locations. At best times the wi fi speed was moderate. There was no visible business center, however, the lobby staff were very helpful to complete flight check in and printing of boarding passes. Overall a good resort to relax and rejuvenate.
