What's Good: Too expensive and not value for money. Staff is average. Food is good. But, I would not go back to the Leela. Taj is better overall.

The conclusion to three weeks in India was to finish in Goa. The area is just fabulous as a conclusion to over two weeks of travel and sightseeing. The people make this place with their very laid back outlook to their life and the choices they make. Fitting into this environment to provide a five star offering as a hotel is a fine balance. The Leela provides such a resort for you to enjoy the beaches, relax in the pool or spa (thanks Debia) with or without children and provide a choice of dining for all ages and tastes. Its a huge property thats required to house all that and they have that too. 75 acres! Lush tropical gardens that are being tended by a huge team provide a lovely oasis of calm with water running around three lagoons for all rooms to enjoy. A nine hole pitch and putt and stunning plants, trees and water features. Beach towels matching parasols and sunbeds allow you to relax on the beach or round the pool attended by lovely teams to assist or offer drinks service. Peace and tranquility personified. If required water sports are available on the beach from the locals. There is a great choice of dining with four main restaurants for the evening. Lunch allows flexibility across where you want to be. But their breakfast choice is above and beyond. They cater for the Indian people with a north south counter for each. Overall the main area is universal for everything else with a bakery, egg counter, fresh fruit prep and even porridge. Backed up with their superb team to help if required and wait each table even if you feel lazy. Thanks to Trishtia for being there every morning and eventually anticipating our choices. It's very easy to relax as it's all catered for. Stunning location. Rooms are all lagoon facing with and without balconies ours was mid range and offered an outside patio, huge kings size bed, a day lounge and a superb bathroom of bath shower and double sinks bags of space and great housekeeping service and turndown. Lots of water fresh fruit and chocolates everyday. Our experience was top class and so to find anything to improve would be a task. However the arrival we experienced after twelve hours of travelling wasn't the best. We waited too long for luggage and consequently couldn't immediately attend the restaurant we wanted (Riverside - Italian)as the dress code was not how I arrived. A welcome drink was in the room not as we signed in and a credit card deposit was required, a nonsense as I'd already paid on Expedia before I arrived. We did get to the Riverside restaurant and it was very good but the dress code wasn't universally enforced. That annoyed me. We were bed and breakfast so we chose to eat out on 4 of our 5 nights if only to explore the few local restaurants. Although not Leela service the local offerings are worth considering and help budgets too. One in particular The Octima sourced local snapper and lobster which were both cooked to perfection. On the last day the hotels team ran us to the airport and helped us pass security and check in (Thanks to Tanya for the boarding passes). The service was an added extra where Joe Rebello was so helpful and knowledgeable. The world is so huge and varied but India is fabulous and Goa is the icing on the cake.

My expectations on this property was sky high, considering the fact that this is LEELA ! And it didn't take me a minute to agree on the fact. It was my first visit to Goa as a family-man and hence the stay for the family had to be the best. I didn't bother to go through feedback/reviews as being an Indian one is aware how hospitable and elegant Leela properties are. We arrived early at the resort at around 12pm and we were offered with the rooms irrespective of the early arrival, greeted with some Leela-isque welcome with Marigold Garlands, fresh Tender Coconut water and a walk-around brief about the property and the facilities within. We stayed at Room.101 and it was just Perfect, the photos should explain you why. A personal welcome note from the General Manager makes one feel cared (this had to be my memento). Beautiful room with a massive bed, hot water all day and night long, 4 Bottles of drinking water everyday, Coffee-Tea sachets, Kettle, Dryer, mosquito repellent, mini-refrigerator, you name it and the room had it. Additionally, a welcome cake for my Kid and a bottle of sparkling wine for the parents kept in the room made us feel special. The property itself is so beautiful with well maintained gardens and an attached beach. If you are lucky you may notice tortoises, swans and fishes in the stream flowing in front of the room balcony. Kids have a kids-zone, Adults can go golfing in the mini-golf area and cycle around the property or beat the heat in the Pool or indulge in the Spa/Steam/Sauna The beach attached to the property (Mobor Beach) is very well maintained and so pristine that I got to know that the resort maintains the attached section of the beach for its guests. There is security deployed in the beach for the safety of its guests. The resort has 6 restaurants/bars. The complimentary breakfast buffet at "The Restaurant" has a good spread from Indian to Continental to Oriental. The buffet lunch/dinner at the same restaurant features interactive live kitchens serving Indian, Italian and Oriental cuisines. Also, authentic spreads including the Goan and Thai were served. A special mention of the personnel who are very warm, courteous and welcoming ! Even the buggy carts in the drive-way stopped when my year-old-son was running around, considering his safety. It is a Big 5 for this resort. A resort should have warm personnel, welcome to guests and nature alike, neat and well organized and this resort ticks them all. I would definitely come back again !!

A lovely property..courteous and helpful people..just what one needs to switch off and relax On the last day here I cannot leave this place without dropping a note of how amazing this holiday has been. Right from accommodating an early check in, the fun filled days with activities especially for the kids, the beach access and the other amenities packed our stay with fun - cycling, karoke, tambola and what not. The resort is maintained so impeccably it is an absolute delight. The staff not getting hassled despite peak hours and requests shows true professionalism. Kudos to the Leela's spirit of Atithi devo bhav ! Things outside to explore - The quick walk to fisherman's wharf for a nice lively evening is a must try option.
