The Mandala is not an ashram, but it's not just a resort either. You'll love it whether you're a yogi or not. A peaceful yet joyful and chilled atmosphere, you can attend yoga classes, go swimming at the beach five minutes away or just relax in the hammocks in the beautiful garden. It's also only a few minutes walk from Mandrem village, which is one of the smaller and quieter gems in Goa. The restaurant serves delicious and clean food, including salads, juices and Indian specialities. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and the beautiful villas have a spacious balcony with a view of the tidal lake behind the resort. All the staff are genuinely kind and welcoming, and Andrew and Anjalika go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. So much thought has gone into every detail of the place. I spent four weeks here and by the end of it I truly felt at home. Already looking forward to my next visit!

I stayed a month at the Mandala in Goa during my yoga teachers training and it was like living in paradise. It is so nice and peaceful with an amazing atmosphere and nice encounters with the other guest that stayed at this place. Also the staff and owners are super nice and made me feel so welcome and at home. Every morning after yoga practice I enjoyed the breakfast with yummie fresh fruit salad, coconut porridge, homemade muesli, toast and eggs. After breakfast I often took a little nap in one of the hammocks underneath the coconut tree. For lunch and diner they have a small, but tasty (and healthy) menu that changes every few days. If you want to eat out, the village and the beach are only a five minute walk. Oh, and let's not forget about the amazing dog called Zen who totally lives up to his name.

We had a very relaxing stay here, it is quite, clean and green. The breakfast included in the price is lovely a selection of home made curds, coconut porridge and muesli. You can also order eggs and we had masala omelette every morning. It is a little expensive for a hut with shared bathroom but I guess you are paying for the peaceful surroundings and a very pretty garden, especially in the evening with fairy lights etc. It is ideal for those seriously into yoga.

My stay at the Mandala was excellent! The staff was warm and welcoming, 2-hour morning yoga session was perfect, and my cottage (with shared bathroom) was clean and cozy. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet get-away, little tucked away paradise close to the beach. Thank you for a lovely experience in Goa! L

My experience at mandala was quite unique in a dystopian sort of way. We expected a yogic/organic retreat in the said eco friendly 'resort' - we found yoga sessions alright, in eco-friendly structures which gave indolence a whole new meaning. Crooked bathroom fixtures, stairs, the whole structure which creaked and complained with every step. The staff was amazing, almost apologetic about having their paying clients go through harsh living conditions. Our first experience when we walked in was a loo with stale smelly leftover s in the pot that had long given up on its job. Shoddy workmanship in the structures that's a grave insult to 'ecofriendly', torn and obviously mended sheets, electricals that made you play treasure hunt. Our kid of course loved it.....She found the hunt to find plugs that will hold our phone chargers a thrilling experience. All that was forgivable for a amateur city slickers like us, our foray into the living in the wild was just as average, a few camping trips, road trips and a brief backpacking experience in the hills and out of nowhere places, so living with nature and limited comforts weren't something we were averse to. What was disappointing was the loose term resort and all that was claimed on their site. Our experience in goa solely consisted of villas for sure but roughing it up never seemed a harrowing experience especially when we were made to feel unwanted, unwelcome and not good enough to be amidst their 'the beach-like' pseudo utopia. All this from a supposed 'yoga expert'. The whole drama of which left us exhausted. Four days we spent there, living like we were in a hostel with a warden watching our every move. Thank god for the beaches in goa that took the misery away till the time to return to our hostile inhospitable retreat. It is retreat. A retreat from carefree life into a camp that forbids smiles. Thank you wonderful staff for being brave enough to endure your work with such management. Never again.
