Nice location on the beach. Rooms are big with nice balcony and amazing view. Nice pool and very friendly staff. Breakfast very basic, restaurant serving ok food. Is good for 2-3 days vacation. No TV in the room, but no one coming here for watching TV I guess .

The hotel was great. The food is much better than when we stopped 10 years ago. We never struggled to get a table in the evening and the waiters were friendly and helpful also making sure you had a drink. The staff are friendly and will also stop for a chat no matter what time of day. The pool get very busy so if you are planning to stop around the hotel and get a sunbed it can be tricky, for us we went down to the beech day do this never caused a problem. We had a really nice room at the quiet end of the property with our own private lawn and sunbeds. The hotel gardeners were very friendly and chatty. The room was cleaned each day by a team of very happy and friendly staff, we did have one small issue that was quickly sorted. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay and would love to go back.

We stayed at the Whispering Palms for 10 days from 28th April for our first visit to Goa and we will be returning and I have reluctantly dropped one star as there are some minor improvements needed in some aspects (which I will add at the end of this) but generally we received a 5* experience. I can thoroughly recommend this Hotel and we are already planning to return but cannot fully recommend staying in late April/May. Service = 5* Right from the start we received an excellent level of service from EVERY member of staff at all levels, we were treated like Royalty and they won't even let you carry a coffee cup from one place to the next without a waiter taking it off you and doing it for you (not even a hint of tip expectancy, but if you do tip they are very gracious about it) they will stop at nothing to make your stay special. All staff members were friendly, attentive, engaged with you and nothing is too much trouble. I wish I could list everyone but I would like to thank in particular the beautiful Karen (front desk etc), Vikram who dragged our heavy cases to our room and brought us drinks but we couldn't tip as we had no small notes or money changed up, we never saw him again so we could tip! Kewal Kumar Ameriya and Riteish Hodge were outstanding for service with a smile and running things like clockwork, Ame who ran the entertainment and made sure moral was high- a great bubbly person to have a chat with as she is an artist too. Shanta our room maid; so lovely, smart and very thorough she spotlessly cleaned, made our bed for us everyday and left fresh towels if we wanted and I felt she has a kind soul. Food = 5* The food at the Breeze is the best I've ever had in a buffet restaurant, so much choice there were multiples of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes and I was able to eat veggie if I wanted without any issues with choice, the fish was outstanding and locally caught. The food is predominantly Northern Indian, varied in spiciness but Western dishes were available and if none of it takes your fancy you can ask for something to be cooked especially - even a burger and chips meal. My hubby is Lactose intolerant and they catered for him just fine. The chefs are excellent and I like the window into the Kitchen so you can see the cleanliness. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were all excellent for quality and choice Tatva Spa = 5* Lovely little Spa on the complex, as I have EDS my Dr said have lots of massages in Goa they know their stuff and he wasn't wrong. My masseuse for the week was TT, I wanted to stuff her in my case and smuggle her home with me.....she was so kind to me and really helped me with my back and neck spasms, she was very good and applied just the right amount of pressure and made sure I was O.K all the time. Such a lovely girl, the treatments are so affordable! 600 irn for a back massage is small change for us Brits. Entertainment = 4*, When they put something on it was great, fire eating, traditional Indian dancing etc but the Weekends were a let down. Pool Area = 4* The pool is a bit small but very clean, the Jacuzzi is just a sitting area with a few jets near the kids pool, sunbeds are comfortable and clean but some of the towels have seen better days and are a bit stained and threadbare! The poolbar and top deck are a great addition but unfortunately the furniture in the poolbar has seen better days...most of the rattan chairs have broken weaving and I snagged 2 sarongs on them, also some legs gave way (dangerous) - I think they send old chairs from the restaurant to retire here(I'm fine with recycling) but some need chucking and others could do with waterproof cushions to stop the snags. Some of the wooden boards are very loose or warped over by the kids pool and are a tripping hazard. Suite and view =4* The suite was clean and comfortable but drab and lacking in decoration or pictures, we had suite 418 which has the worst garden of all - no space and a horrible tarp covered well, fire hydrant and a smelly, noisy diesal pump....it was very busy with gardeners hooking up hoses there so we never used it. Our rep probably could have got us moved but he shrugged it off! It was just a little disappointing compared to other room views Grounds & Location =5* the grounds are beautifully kept, you will see exotic birds and lizards amongst the trees and flowers and it's very tranquil. Just a short walk to the beach or Candolim High Street we found the location ideal. With 24 hour security and gated you are in safe hands......one lovely Security guard (Mauritian) showed me around and pointed out a Peacock to photograph, the front security guys are dressed in fab uniforms and always greet you nicely. Don't miss seeing a Goan sunset from one of the Shacks, it's not far to walk for such beauty. The stall owners can be a bit of a pain on the way, shop around as you can sometimes get cheaper on the main drag, one stall seller will give you individual prices - buy from her, the others are a pain and hassle you to buy more and more before agreeing a price. The niggles = I have major issue with our Tour Operator selling a holiday out of season (Candolim was shutting down, excursions were unavailable, shops closed, bars empty, no entertainment at places like The Stone House!) which I am addressing with them and it is not the Whispering Palms fault at all. But after trying to arrange a room extension (1st with Tour Op who passed me on to the Palms) I emailed 2 months prior to arrival and then we were still being messed about for an answer when we got there! Check out at 11am but our flight was leaving at 3:15am the next day! Trying to arrange it was frustrating, our rep was useless and went AWOL, we were being told Yes then no, different times for extension etc, even on the morning of checkout we had no confirmed check out time and Cleaning supervisor was not aware of a late check out. I need somewhere to rest due to my spinal issue before a long flight so we ended up booking a room for the day at the hotel across the road. We know the hotel was still taking group bookings during our stay so we were not happy being bumped in favour of late bookings when we tried to arrange so far ahead. Weekend entertainment was poor compared to week nights, dreadful too loud techno disco when trying to eat evening meal! Pool bar was closed and unmanned after a week and Tea & Coffee self service bar was taken away to my absolute horror as the tea and coffee you got after that was not good at all (being out of season it had quietened down with only a dozen Brits left). Hotel started to cater for large groups, some male only and Tour buses full of people started turning up for short stays, it was quite disruptive and some guests behaviour regarding food hygiene was very poor. We had to eat as soon as the restaurant opened as children and adults were picking things over by hand, not using utensils (one brat shoved his hands into the icream repeatedly...urghhh!) The poor Waiters were trying to keep control! Also we found if you left your things and sunbed to go to lunch or elsewhere, Indian guests were sitting on and using your towels, not yet used to the etiquette of using Hotel facilities etc! We learnt that late April to May is off season and the Hotel caters mainly for Indian guests and groups but service standards did drop during the day as it would swing between empty and then full again. Quite a few people were upset at the room extension and withdrawn facilities issue. It was an avoidable situation. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Whispering Palms again and would like to thank them for our stay but our return will be earlier in March etc next time.

Really nice hotel with good food and good service, near the beach. We had all inclusive. We stayed 2 weeks and I dont think we ate the same food twice. Spacious and clean rooms, was expecting worse from the earlier reviews but was positively surprised. I dont usually like hotel entertainment in the evenings but this one hade some good ones, perhaps a bit to loud volume at times.
