  • Very difficult to rate - you decide

by goodera on February 11, 2018

This hotel is very difficult to rate and hopefully I will balance out the view. This is NOT a bad hotel but is massively overpriced for what you get and the photography and description certainly has artistic licence as on first inspection I though we had come to the wrong hotel. The roof top bar doesn't exist and the pool area is very small and crowded. Free WIFI available 1. All staff are absolutely superb 2. The food is very good too with lots of choice. 3. General room standard was good with free water and daily services, good shower in the bathroom however the room are tired especially for the price paid. 4. General hotel needs some investment as is quite shabby in most area 5. Pool area has free towels but needs a fair bit of attention. 6. Entertainment is ok but that karaoke night is shocking and needs removing from the agenda. 7. Location is a short walk to restaurants and beach. 8. Specialty restaurant is excellent. 9. Good money changing service just outside the front of the hotel (DO NOT use the one on the way to the beach he was short changing people) This hotel is been kept a float by the large volume of pompous individuals who have been going for years and look you up and down when you enter the bar, sadly this has made the hotel complacent in my view as it is guaranteed income.. We enjoyed the holiday and in no way were we offended by the hotel as the staff and the food were really fantastic and this pushed the score up to a 4. The local area is cheap to eat and drink so consider whether the All Inclusive option is for you as we either had lunch at the hotel and dinner out or vica versa. I have found this the hardest hotel we have been stayed at to rate as there are lots of positive aspects but it starts with been massively overpriced when we compare to other hotels we have stayed at.....

  • Dont listen to the brochure!!! ( THOMAS COOK)

by chikatilo on February 8, 2018

Heart sank!!!! The staff are mostly really friendly & efficient. The pool is like a Communist Soviet Union area- concrete & concrete. We never had trouble getting a sunbed because we didnt want to spend the day there but preferred the short walk to the shacks on the beautiful beach. Here we were looked after and had a great time with the friendly people down there. The room...... basic. The blinds didnt work. We didnt have a balcony table until asked. The phone didnt work despite several requests to try & fix it. However, it was clean. We, mostly, chose to eat out but what we ate was fine. The staff endeavoured to provide lovely entertainment. On check out, we were allocated a half hr slot in a room for a quick shower........ WOW WOW WOW!!!! Had we changed hotels????? A completely modern, refurbished, bright room. Complete contrast to how wed spent the previous 2 weeks after being told our room had been refurbished. The brochure over sells this hotel for over 3,600 a couple- shop around.

  • Needs some TLC

We had a great time at whispering palms. But the building needs a lot of building work done. The staff, food and location are great. Would recommend to anyone wanting a holiday in Goa.two weeks was a bit long so booking trips is a must.

Just had a wonderful holiday in the Whispering Palms Hotel Resort in Candolim Goa. The hotel is top notch .From our room we overlooked the pool. the room was well equipped, cleaned every day with fresh towels . Entertainment every night. The food was brilliant. the staff are the best so friendly.when we arrived we where welcomed with welcome back. on the 2nd day we where presented with a welcome back cake. The position of the hotel is great 3minutes from the beach. We could get a taxi tuk-tuk or bus 2mins at the end of the road.We will be returning next year our 4th time.
