We had planned a 3 day trip to Gokarna Mahabaleshwar, Idagunji and Yaana during which we stayed at Suragi. The rooms are well maintained, clean, with lots of space for kids to play in the courtyard and peaceful as the place itself is away from the road. The only sounds are those of birds chirping and animals. It is around 200 meters away from Kadle beach, which is a big and clean beach itself. There is a very well maintained garden around the house with a variety of trees and flowery plants. There are no TV, Wifi in the rooms, which is good as it adds to the sense of being away from the rigour of city life. Hot Water is available through out the day in the rooms with a heater. The best part is the home cooked tasty yet sattvik food with local delicacies served every day. The food has variety, taste and health all combined into a package. As the food was all non spicy, our son was able to eat and enjoy everything. The owner Mr. Aravind is a pleasant personality and a very good guide to the local cuisines and places to visit. All in all, it was a very enjoyable and one of our most memorable trips and look forward to visiting again.

This was our 2nd visit to Suragi... and this time it was with friends and kids... Our dearest friend and "the" host Meeta had a perfect holiday planned for us keeping kids in mind and ensuring they have a memorable trip... and yes.. that is exactly what it was! 3 days just went flying leaving us craving for more... The weather was pretty humid when we visited... but who cares... Here are the glimpse of our activities during the stay... Day 1: Arrival @ Suragi; yummy breakfast; good rest; healthy and authentic coastal delicacies for lunch; strolling in the garden; clicking away pics of the variety of flowers and fruits; relishing organic fruits from the garden (this was a repeat all 3 days ;)); visit to Idaguni; Murudeshwara; water sports; music and dance... ooh!!! Day 2: Early morning trek along the beautiful serene beach; heavy breakfast; rest and evening at serene Kadle beach and more photos... can't get enough of it... Day 3: Early morning visit to Yana.. "Breath"taking trek and views... photos, selfies and fun... back for more beach before packing off... definitely leaving us craving for more... Thanks to Meeta and Aravind for planning a perfect trip for us and ensuring we stay energized with the home made yummy food and refreshing drinks to enjoy all the planned activities!!! A perfect place for people who enjoy simple living and healthy home made food!

Meeta showed suragi flower. Google says it's a home stay. Believe me it's none of these. Suragi is an experience and it is WOW! Its been since a long I took a break from teaching. Pratipades birthday was a perfect occasion to go to suragi. What makes it so special?, my daughter asked. Beach next to it? TT table? Badminton court? Cycling? Garden? Well maintained rooms? Yummy south dishes? Amenities.. Possible in other home stays but Meeta, who I lovingly call pailwan and a very human Aravind, the former techie couples make the difference. Home is a home because of people and food. At suragi the both are awesome and I could have home next to beach. We had Kumta special summer recipes, a small beach treck, cycled, played enough, lunch (sitting) in Aghanashini river, swum, bought world famous Kumta cashews and spent a lot of time inside home stay doing nothing as Suragi suggests! If you are lucky you would also listen to Aravinds live flute if his mood permits! Visit Suragi, charge life, away from your world connecting with universe! Happy holidays.

Arvind and Meeta welcomed us warmly into their lovely home, and we settled in immediately. Our room was cool and comfortable, clean and spacious, with a verandah sit-out and beautiful gardens all around. Meals were delicious. The nearby beach is quiet, with small fishing villages strung along its long stretch of sand, and we enjoyed walking morning and evening. The town of Kumta is Just the right size to explore, and our hosts advised us well on where to find good food and local ice cream!

Myself, wife and Kid stayed at Suragi for 2 nights..and it was an unforgettable experience for us.. Arvind and his staff were very homely and welcoming, and we were greeted as if we were family. There was home made local variety veg food made by 'Mai' everyday, and whether it was breakfast, or Dinner it always was special. The ambience was fresh, and surrounded by greenery all round, and to add to that it is very near to a beach (must visit). In fact so near that we went twice a day - walking to the beach, even at night time...! It is rare to find a beach so clean and bereft of too many people anywhere. Also it has a trekking spot that we all loved to goto- that takes us to another part of the beach..! .Arvind also guided us around the different places such as the bada temple, Sunrise point (must visit). There is also an open ground (converted to badminton court) where our kid loved to play. We understand another part of it will be used for camping outing place. (cant wait to see that..). Our son also liked to play there with all the toys and games (esp with his Arvind Uncle) that are kept at the resort for all visitors kids. All in all a very good break from the city into a homely atmosphere...and we cant wait to visit again !!
