Wow wow and wow. You just need to drive here. Commuting by Train or bus is little difficult. Just let loose yourself. Huge rooms both air con and non air con with attach balcony. Bathrooms, bed, linens are clean. Fresh food, specially if you go during the monsoons don't miss the fresh hilsa. Staffs are good specially Mr. Kanti. Good parking lot. Children can enjoy.

Monday we went to Rupnarayan tourist lodge with family, we were total 5 people and booked three rooms on 2nd floor, our room numbers were 201, 202 and 203. We were quite happy due to scenic beauty of the place but around 10 oclock night our almira in the room no 201 started making abnormal sounds...initially we thought its due to some insects then we called security they came they checked thoroughly but did not find anything...but theres something in their faces...they told me need not worry may be due to some defects in the joints it started making sounds...before leaving they told me any time we can call them if we faces any problems (if its due to almiras defective joints then why should we face any problem) ... after 2:30 a.m. almira stopped making sounds...next day one of our relative told me that before one month one man attempted suicide in room no 205 and he died...when I asked manager about it he said that old man was in annex building and we demolished the building already...that is lie because from reviews I already got to know that they demolition of annex building done long ago and this incident happened only last month...house keepers told me that it was room number 205...next day we discovered room no 210 door was broken and deceased persons bed and other belongings kept in the room no 210...that same night our toilets light started blinking...in the night it felt some one walking inside the rooms...

Nice place to stay just beside rupnarayan river. Rooms are big with Ac and balcony. Nice food and great hospitality. Price is very reasonable and staffs are good. Rooms have good view from balcony. Overall a very good cool and calm place for a 1-2 day outing with your family and friends. Lodge have nice park for children. One of the biggest property of WBTDC.

Gadiara is a nice spot beside the Ganges (Hooghly) river where Rupnarayan river meets with it. The Rupnarayan Tourist Lodge is just on the bank of the two rivers. One side is the Hooghly river - the Western most branch of Ganges. The other side is the Rupnarayan river. During the low tide, remains of an old fort, made by the British, is still visible. Ships to Kolkata fort passes in front of the tourist lodge during high tide. The tourist lodge operated by West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDCL) is currently under renovation, although the condition is already good. Taste of food is ok. It is better to order in advance. Staffs are very cooperative. Online booking is available at website of WBTDCL. Spot booking is also available. There are both AC and non AC rooms. Toilets are clean and with running hot water facility. I shall recommend to go to Gadiara during full moon. The river looks beautiful at nights of full moon. There is a ferry service from Gadiara to Nurpur. The ferry jetty is just a few minutes walking distance from the tourist lodge. The jetty for going to Geonkhali is a bit far but still at walking distance. Ponds in the tourist lodge complex are full of big fishes.

Three stars for awesome location, indoor/outdoor games for children and large rooms. Rest doesnt command any mention. We went by road and road condition was quite good for long drive during July 2018. Food it overpriced as usual. Try fried fish there. If you take a lazy walk down the village road and move little far keeping the lodge at your left, you can spend quality time at the picturesque bank of Rupnarayan. Lawns/gardens were there but nobody cared for maintaining it. Please look at the photos for more detail. They wont give you more than one towel in 3 bedded room. Geaser didnt work.
