The river facing rooms have wonderful views but thats where the superlatives end. Food is tasteless , often cold and uninspiring. The staff have not been trained and management have no idea how to manage what is supposed to be a four star hotel. They do not accept credit cards. The website paints a totally unrealistic picture of the quality of this place. From talking to other guests standards have slipped badly recently.

We decided to make a (big) detour by plane and car to visit Hampi, and were seriously questioning our judgment during the terrible 4 hour drive from Hubli along a road under renovation for most of the journey, making our Indian drive, challenging at the best of times, positively hair-raising... However, the absolute tranquility of the resort quickly convince us that this was an effort well worth making. The absence of wifi soon became a blessing rather than a curse, allowing us to really indulge in the nature. We shared Turtle Cottages, which were fine, but would have preferred a river view cottage. Hampi blew us all away. Dont miss the corracle river trip. Staying in hotel is like being on safari, even if we saw nothing wilder than an otter...Do the walk up to the top of the mountain, over the bamboo bridges. Staff all beyond gracious and efficient

This is one of those very few, and incredibly enjoyable, hotels that is immersed in its landscape. Rooms are much more comfortable than a standard eco-lodge with excellent beds, A/C, and a nice bathroom. The pool is gorgeous and our kids would have spent the whole 3 days there, but thank goodness we didnt. The hikes right from the lodge are fantastic. The sunset/sunrise point right next to the lodge was stunning. We loved that the lodge was a bit away from the bustle of the busier tourist areas. By far the best part of this place was the staff. They were helpful and pleasant in everything they did. We are a hard family to please with food and this place delivered- we all really loved it. Flavorful, spicy and authentic Indian food for us, milder options for the kids.

This is a great base for visiting the Hampi ruins. Surrounded by rocky boulders alongside the river the cottages are all very private and well appointed. The rock swimming pool is very attractive and the service and food very good.

Either travellers are blind or have never really been further than their local Ramada Inn ! This place must have been fabulous years ago. The location is astonishing and the site is just kept above minimal level. In the tradition of this shall be sufficient for occasional visitors who shall never come back... Apparently the hotel has been sold and bought serveral times in recent years and management has other things to do than refurbish the place. It could be absolute paradise. The local guy in charge is really nice and does his utmost the keep the place going. the room are just a bit shabby, the bathrooms need some 21rst century tuning, the food is excellent and a campfire and barbecue was organised for the guests. That was a real plus and very nicely done. The natural pool is lovely and clean but please redo the chairs and supply pool towels. The staff cooked us breakfast one very early morning befor we left and that was exceptionnally nice of them. Once again the local people do their utmost to keep the guests happy but som kind of maintenance shoul take place before the end of this century. Investment is the key but I'm not sure wether the presentt owners are ready to part with some of their short term profits. Its sad indeed. Do I recomend ? I'm not sure of any alternative but the absolutely fabulous Hampi site is 50' by car or a fast crossing with the local boats. Hampi is worth a little sacrifice and who knows, maybe the owners will have spent a few rupies .
