The staff was so not helpful, rooms were dirty and turned out to be the most expensive ones all over Hampi. I actually asked the staff for a wiper and a rag and cleaned the room by myself cause I was so disgusted to stay there.

We took up 4 rooms. Rooms are basic, but the location is fantastic. Nice swings setup in the courtyard, not a lot of problems if you're a noisy bunch. Some of the rooms are decidedly better than others, seem to be recently renovated. The restaurant also serves decent meals.

Located on the other side of the river and very easy to locate, this beautiful guest house is situated alongside paddy fields. They have two types of cottages - garden view and paddy field view. We stayed in the garden view cottage (photos attached) which included a private bathroom, a room designed in the shape of a hut with basic amenities. The resort also has a 24-hours restaurant that serve a wide variety of dishes with moderate prices. Check-in process could have been improved as the person specifically asks for hotel voucher if you have made online booking (which is something they should have obtained from the site itself).

We had a very pleasant stay at Mowgli Guest House in July. The guesthouse is basically on a road (well, more of a dirt track) that is packed with hostels, guest houses and restaurants catering for travellers). 2 minute boat trips launch from the end of the road (5min walk) to take you across the water to the UNESCO World Heritage site. Very convenient. We ate in the restaurants of a few other guest houses nearby and caught site of their accommodation set up. Mowgli certainly seemed better. Word of advice: it is quite basic in terms of amenities, so if you want a bit of added comfort, space and cleanliness be sure to book a River View cottage. They are more expensive but there's quite a marked difference between these and the Garden View huts. Cottages are thatched roof and include a modest en suite with shower (note, there is hot water but not all day). Each has a lovely terrace looking out to gorgeous view of paddy fields, palm trees and the river. These River View cottages are also quieter as they're further away from the restaurant area which can be a little noisy (but much less so than other places). Food is generally good, but you have plenty of other nearby options if you want to venture out. Service was good, and we also got our laundry done at a reasonable rate. It is simple and no frills, but we found it homely and relaxing. Overall, would certainly recommend.

My husband and i stayed in mowgli for one night. the room is very compact. cleanliness is average. I think its ideal for solo travellers or if you travel with friends. They do not have a dustbin in the room. You have to ask for towels and soap for bathing. When we turned on the tap for a shower, the water was black in colour..so we basically didnt even shower. the seating arrangement of the restaurant is nice and view is really good. Food is good. If you intend to stay here, choose a room with the view of the paddy fields - it's very serene.
