Hansi is located in the state of Haryana and enjoys the distinction of being an ancient fort city. It is believed that a sword manufacturing company once existed in the city under the control of King Prithviraj Chauhan. High quality swords were manufactured here which were then exported to the Middle East. Hansi tourist places comprise a number of forts and other buildings of historical importance.
Most significant among places to visit in Hansi is the Asigarh Fort, which is also known as Prithviraj Chauhan's Fort or Prithviraj Chauhan ka Qila. The walls of this majestic fort are over 50 feet high and it is accounted as one of the most indestructible forts of ancient India. Apart from the fort, another peculiar fact about Hansi is that tourists can enter the city by any one of the five gates guarding the city. These are Delhi Gate on the east, Hisar Gate on the west, Gosain Gate on the north-west, Barsi Gate on the south and Umra Gate on the south west. Apart from these exalted structures, there are other monuments like the Gujri Mahal and Dargah Char Qutub which can be visited.
There are many things tourists can do on a Hansi tour among which sightseeing is the most prominent. Tourists can explore the cultural diversity of this city which was invaded by Mughals, Jains, Rajputs and British at different time periods in history. Shopping and eating out are other activities tourists can enjoy during their stay here. The city is very close to Hisar and is easily accessible from Delhi by rail and road.
