We booked through a travel agent and this was the Resort suggested to us. First the pros: the location is awesome - adjacent to gobindnagar beach with a lovely view of the sunrise, WiFi is available at the reception which is decent enough to receive and send messages and mails, rooms are ok Now the cons: the complimentary breakfast is the worst I have ever had with the same bad food everyday, the rest of the food is highly overpriced for the kind of place, the staff is rude and unhelpful. We were using the wifi at the reception one morning when a guest came to complain about bedbugs in her room and the staff was least concerned. Even the beach adjacent to the Resort has not been well maintained else it could be such a happening place! So overall, book it if you have no other option but do make sure that your room is free of bedbugs and all amenities are working before taking it. I am ranking it average only because of the view; it deserves a worse ranking.

This is the worst resort/hotel i have ever stayed in. Staff: hostile, indecent, careless & least interested in hospitality,no manager or senior staff seen at the resort. Rooms: fine but below average, not well maintained Food: Dont let me get started. i took 2 meals there and they were one of the worst meals i have ever had, butter was melted like water, rice was cold, okra was so oily that i had to change the plate.

Located on a serene beach facing the east, it gives a chance to enjoy the sunrise and the moon rise. We were there on a full moon day and thoroughly enjoyed the full moon till late in the night and the next day sunrise inspired me play a morning raga sitting on the branch of a beach calophyllum tree(Ponna Chettu)

Our tour operator Akbar Travels fleeced us and entrusted the job of booking our hotels and local travel to another local tour operator Mountain Edge who booked us in this nightmare called Gold India Beach Resort. While Mountain Edge did a OK OK kind of job for taxi and pick etc hotel experience is something you would like to forget soon and never ever remember anytime. Don't go by the name of the resort which suggests some fancy, boutique destination but not even worth a mention. Rooms are smelly and never ever cleaned once you occupy filled with inevitable sand that you bring in from the beaches. Bath rooms do not have hot water for bath and brought in by buckets from the near higher class rooms but always at the mercy of your hotel staff. They will even have the audacity to tell you once the new guest occupies the higher class room, sorry we can't help you with hot water. Better find your own destination for food outside the hotel, don't even brave it to try anything in this hotel! If you are a vegetarian, Shakahar just at a stone throw distance should be the choice. Proximity to the turquoise green ocean and the fine beach is a saving grace to the otherwise nondescript, abysmally bad smelly burrow called Gold India, unless you must go to Havelock and don't have a room and you care only for other activities.
