    Very Good!

    What's Good: Location

What needs to improve : Grounds poorly maintained with plastic waste visible

Reason For Rating : Very well located property. The walking path slong the lake could be better maintained. Generally, while the front office is quite efficient and tries to be helpful, they are handicapped by the fact that this hotel seems to cater latgely to wedding finctions.

  • Good hotel with average staff

This hotel was having two kind of check out in November 2019 like 24 hrs. and 12pm. Really confusing and this is operating by their front desk and Manager / GM level as per their wish. Disturbing guests with their funny attitude otherwise this hotel is really good, appreciate hotel owners and completely dissatisfied with their front desk and respective manager. They need some training.

stayed here during the 1st week of october on our way to Goa for overnight stay. Check in is very smooth. Rooms are very clean and perfect. Very few options for in house dining . Staff service can be improved. Nevertheless , property in the heart of the city and vey clean and comfortable.

  • Short but excellent stay

    by Ursula D on

We only stayed one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our short visit. The hotel, formerly a Taj Gateway, is located in spacious grounds by the lakeside, nicely landscaped and with a largish pool and a spa - alas we had no time to try either. Reception was warm and welcoming, and professional at the same time. Our room was large and well equipped, and the bathroom was excellent. Our only small criticism were the lack of handtowels in the bathroom, and there was no English language news channel on the TV. We went to the bar for pre-dinner drinks. Again, quite big, with dim lighting, very relaxing, and deserted when we arrived. However, a barman quickly materialised and turned out to be a dab hand at mixing some good cocktails for me. The restaurant was busier, and a dinner buffet was on offer. We dined a la carte as we were not that hungry. We had an egg biryani, and methi mutter malai with nan. Both these dishes were fabulous! I hadn't realised how delightful a simple plate of peas could be! We also tried some delicious kir for dessert. We spoke to the chef afterwards: he certainly knows his trade and has a great passion for cooking and for food. Service from our captain, Saswati, was exemplary and couldn't be faulted. The breakfast buffet was also very good, and consisted mainly of Indian food. The only drawback was a 20 minute wait for coffee. Overall an extremely good hotel and very good value. We only paid about INR1000 more than for a very mediocre guesthouse room in overpriced Hampi.
