We both really loved our stay. The Bungalows were so lovely and spacious as there were no twin room we had a room each. It was such peaceful surroundings with beautiful flowers and woodland. Sudhir was friendly and welcoming and he was so knowledgeable and took the time to share so much of his time. The fact that our driver was accommodated and well looked after was a nice touch as this was not the case in other locations. The Homestay in Thekkady was so much more than wed expected. he location was beautiful and picturesque. The Jeep trip around the cardamom plantation was a highlight. Seeing all the work that goes on there and meeting the workforce, we felt so honoured. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I have no hesitation in recommending this to all my family and friends.. Thank you Sudhir

We too stopped here for two nights as part of a Citrus Holidays tour. Sidhur, the manager, was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The accommodation was very comfortable, and the food excellent. If you like a tipple in the evening, you need to get it in advance as this place is not licensed. Best bit after sitting outside soaking up the peace and quiet was chatting to Sidhur who was eloquent on just about everything. Highly recommended.

We had two nights here as part of a Kerala tour with Citrus holidays. We stayed in a comfortable bungalow on well kept grounds within a Cardamom plantation. We were welcomed by Sudhir the homestay manager who is a real character. Nothing was too much much trouble. He was very interesting, prepared to answer any questions, and engaged us in many discussions on current affairs, even Brexit from which we thought we had escaped for three weeks!! He gave us a tour of the plantation in a jeep and a tour of the Cardamom processing unit. Food was a set menu served in a small dining room with another couple of guests. A bigger dining room is in the process of being built. This is a homestay, not a hotel, and should not be judged as such. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The rooms were very quiet and comfortable, and you could not fault the modern bathrooms. However, the main problem with this accommodation is its location. There is very little there, nowhere to walk to as it is situated on a main road, and nothing to do there apart from taking a bumpy tour to view the plantation. We were not keen on the eating arrangements which had the guests seated at a specific time around one table. The food provided was a set menu which was adequate but unexciting. Mercifully the drivers were accommodated and well looked after which was not always the case on our Kerala tour arranged by Citrus Holidays.

Kalarickal is an ideal place for a quiet stay amidst idyllic woodland surroundings. The flowers, birdsong, trees and general ambience are unsurpassed. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and clean; modern bungalows each with a huge shower room. It was just like staying with family and we were served tasty, home-cooked, healthy meals which were adjusted to meet European tastes - not too spicy, yet flavoursome. The staff were friendly and polite and Sudhir, the manager, was so food-natured. He made us feel most welcome and catered to our every need. Nothing was too much trouble. What more could one ask? Well a guided tour of the cardamom processing plant perhaps? Or what about a jeep tour of the farm in the forest to see how peppers and cardamoms grow? Dont worry - it was included.
