We recently spent two days at the Pepper County Home stay as part of a touring holiday of India. It was a wonderfully relaxing location with excellent food and very hospitable hosts. The accommodation was splendid with a huge comfy bed and a private balcony overlooking the forest. We would highly recommend it.

If you're looking to stay in this area look no further. You will not be disappointed. Superb chef attentive and great cook. Very informative tour of site by owner. Definitely go back if visiting the area.

I stayed at Pepper County with my two sons for three nights, including December 25th 2018 and it was everything we could possibly have wanted. Having paid for an expensive tour of a spice plantation, I discovered it was totally unnecessary, as Cyriac had everything growing at Pepper County and he kindly gave us a tour of his beautiful garden. The room was immaculate with lots of protection against mosquitos, which was welcome and the shower was good. The rooms are all of a very high standard and the beds were comfortable. It rained when we were there and extra blankets were immediately offered. Our balcony was the most restful place to sit and read or have an afternoon sleep with lovely bamboo chairs and we felt as though we were sitting in the tree tops. A great place for bird watching - so peaceful. The food was simple but good. Cyriac even made us Tapioca to go with a fish curry, as I had mentioned how much I liked it. I desperately wanted the recipe for Dolly's home made Lemon Pickle but alas left without it. I will definitely return.

We stayed in Pepper County home stay for two nights during our recent visit to Kerala. It was our first experience of home stay, and pepper County sets the bar very high! A large and comfortable en-suite bedroom, and excellent, freshly cooked meals, served by the in-house staff. A very pleasant experience!

This is a must if you are visiting Thekkady. The home is in a beautiful setting just outside the town and is so peaceful as it sits amongst acres of woodland with a huge variety of spice and fruit trees. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with comfortable king size bed, tv, water, kettle etc. There is WiFi but it is intermittent so just turn off your equipment and enjoy the surroundings. The bathroom is of a good size with walk in shower and plenty of hot water. Just for information there are no mini toiletries so make sure you have everything you need. The dining room is basic and friendly. The cook makes delicious meals in the evening and serves homemade soup, a vegetarian or chicken dish followed by a desert. For breakfast it is fruit and toast plus eggs how you like them. The host is a warm, friendly and caring gentleman who is a deylight to talk to with interesting stories. Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful stay.
