Ruby and Thomas are lovely hosts. We felt truly comfortable as if we were members of their family. They entertained us by showing us a local rubber/pineapple plantation, shared cultural customs, and engaged me in a stitch project. We laughed a lot as we worked together. This was exactly the experience I had expected at an Agritourisimo in Italy (last year) however did not have there. Here, you will have wonderful memories of Tabernacle Homestay.

We spent a month touring India and our stay with Ruby and Thomas at the Tabernacle Homestay was one of the real highlights for us. Ruby and Thomas were incredibly kind and hospitable. They immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. Our trips out with Thomas were really interesting and gave us a chance to see life in Kerala away from the tourist crowds. The home cooked food was amazing and it was great to spend the evenings chatting with Ruby and Thomas. We only stayed a couple of nights but we left with some fantastic memories and two new friends. If youre thinking about going to Kerala we would highly recommend staying at the Tabernacle Homestay. Its a wonderful way of experiencing life in southern India!

The enjoyment of our short (two nights) stay with Ruby and Dr. Thomas was tragically and severely hampered as our visit happened to coincide perfectly with the absolute symptomatic nadir of a 36-hour ailment we had both contracted in the hours before our arrival (the details of which I will leave out here, but will offer a gentle recommendation for future unseasoned visitors to India to perhaps avoid food served on domestic flights in order to safeguard an enjoyable trip). Despite us being rendered feverishly bedridden - or at the very least housebound - and drained (figuratively and literally) for the duration of our stay, thus missing out on the proposed exciting activities that we had so been looking forward to, the amazing care and attention we received were second to none, and very much appreciated. Ruby and Dr. Thomas are engaging and fantastic hosts that go to great lengths to ensure that their guests are made to feel welcome, comfortable, well fed, and entertained, but not in a manner that is overbearing. They have a lovely house that is beautifully located next to a gently flowing river surrounded by lush greenery full of birdlife, and it is a real treat to be able to sit on their tranquil veranda to just watch life go by whilst sipping some black tea (served by the charming Raj, their housekeeper/cook). Also, no review would be complete without a mention of the food served. As a visitor at Tabernacle Homestay you will be served a veritable smorgasbord of delicious Keralan cuisine - in great quantities and varieties, and several times per day - and will also have the opportunity to learn how to cook some of the dishes together with Ruby. Overall, our temporary state of being incapacitated notwithstanding, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend that you visit if in the area. We hope to one day be able to return and make up for the lost opportunities this time around.

Thanks to the lovely Thomas couple and our hosts in Tabernacle Homestay. We experienced warm hospitality and tours in the green and abundant water envionment. We also experienced delicious food cooked for us three meals a day and at five o'clock traditional tea and coffee. The Thomas couple helped us buy sandal shoes that were stuck during the trip. Warmly recommend staying in this place more then two nights. Hope to get back to Ruby and Dr. Joseph Thomas and enjoy again from the amazing place where you live. Dalia&Muli Malkis Israel

We have stayed here for two nights in February 2018. Our stay was marvelous, Ruby and Thomas were so warm and friendly, the delicious and authentic Keralan food was great. The location right on the river bank is beautiful. Ruby and Thomas took us to interesting places in the beautiful rustic region. We recommend very warmly to stay here.
