l stayed at Diggi Palace in March 2018, with a group. The whole group became ill with Delhi Belly which started at different times, during the whole of our stay. Since returning to UK l have not recovered and have lost 2 stone. Two months on some of us have been diagnosed with giarda. The pool is just filled with tap water. Dinner was always a buffet where food was kept warm and in particular rice - l know now this is the worst thing you can do. The memory of my time in India has been completely spoiled and l never want to go to India again. The manager refused to take any responsibility.

I loved the charm of Diggi Palace. Every room was different and gorgeous. This isn't a 5 star hotel by any standard but it is clean and has everything you need. If I closed my eyes I could pretend I was staying in a palace and felt like a queen. My TV did not work, my shower wasn't perfect but I was captivated by the beauty of this property. We were lucky enough to stay for the Holi festival- a magical experience I will never forget

We stayed here for several nights whilst doing The Triangle. Charming hotel, great location. Large bedroom and bathroom which were spotlessly clean. The amazing Mr Wilson holds this place together as the rest of the staff could seriously benefit from some customer service training! Yes, I know it is India and everything is more laid back, but waiting ages for service is just so frustrating. All the staff were busy running around preparing for the nightly visits from (usually small) coach groups and generally ignored the residential guests. On two occasions we were sitting on the veranda enjoying the beautiful gardens when all the lights were turned off at 10p.m. We asked for another drink and the lights back on, but were told the bar was closed. Please let Mr Wilson take charge of the bar/restaurant service! His assistance, advice and efficiency are second to none. There was a lady wandering around the restaurant area every morning and evening, but we werent sure of her role as she didnt interact with guests or assist the staff. Overall, a stunning, charming hotel, but as mentioned by previous posters, if you want 4 star chain hotels go elsewhere. If you want charm, stunning location and eccentricity, then this is the place to be. Best Exotic Marigold meets Fawlty Towers, but with better food! One more suggestion - pool area could do with seating, tables, brollies etc. We didnt use the pool as there was nowhere to sit and no shade, which would be very welcome after a days sight-seeing in the heat.

Diggi Palace is a charm and character filled hotel hidden in the middle of a large city block in central Jaipur. The grounds are well kept and the restaurant is very good. We also really enjoyed the unique and very interesting character of our room, and the architecture in general. Staying at Diggi Palace is an experience not to be missed.
